Tied in with the 45th anniversary of Weekly Shōnen Jump, a new DVD entitled J Anime TV Theme Complete Works hits Japanese shelves this March from Nippon Columbia featuring 45 anime theme songs, including five from the various Dragon Ball TV adaptations.
The Dragon Ball theme songs set for the DVD include:
- Dragon Ball: “Makafushigi Adobenchā!” (“Mystical Adventure!”)
- Dragon Ball Z: “CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA”
- Dragon Ball Z: “WE GOTTA POWER”
- Dragon Ball GT: “DAN DAN Kokoro Hikarete ‘ku” (“Bit by Bit, You’re Charming My Heart”)
- Dragon Ball Kai: “Dragon Soul”
Each of the Dragon Ball opening themes featured multiple animation updates as their respective series continued onward, so it will be interesting to see which versions are selected for the DVD.
A total of 45 theme songs representing 31 series are set for inclusion with Dragon Ball having the most representation (followed by Kinnikuman with four songs). Both opening theme songs from the original TV adaptation of Dr. Slump, Akira Toriyama’s series prior to Dragon Ball, will also be included.
J Anime TV Theme Complete Works will see its release in Japan 26 March 2014 with an MSRP of ¥6,090. Amazon Japan is currently offering the DVD for a pre-order price of ¥4,892.

That’s a pretty cool collection. But I wonder how the hell did they manage to include Mazinger Z in the mix.
I was completely sold until I saw the asking price. For $60, I’d expect more content. Hopefully they’ll include all of the alternate animations for each series.
Might wait for a bigger sale on this one. I’ll be keeping an eye on Amazon Japan’s price.
Bo^7’s OP is on this; cool.
For some reason I’m really happy that Goku and Team Urameshi are in close proximity XD 😆
