Re: Anyone know where I can find YTV's early airings of GT?

I have VHS recordings for all three DB, Z, and GT from YTV and I can confirm they never used the Japanese intro non-dubbed. Don't you believe it! Not the part about the non-dubbed intro, about this guy having VHS recordings that he didn't steal on false pretenses. And even that is pretty rough arou...

Re: Fan group scanning/remastering of multi-generational film prints previously owned by FUNimation

Not sure if this counts as piracy or not since it's only part of the movie and it's literally the only way to see it like this, but the full reel was uploaded to the Internet Archive. It's quite something. (link removed) I got banned for 6 months for calling someone an idiot. If VegettoEX does noth...

Re: Fan group scanning/remastering of multi-generational film prints previously owned by FUNimation

That's cool. Though, don't get too excited; these guys did transfers of some episodes of OG DB well over a year ago which have yet to see the light of day outside of the odd clip or screenshot. Apparently the known troll Enigmo is their chief colour corrector (or was), and that guy is sort of known...

Re: All-purpose Dragon Ball sale/trade thread.

This is sort of an odd request, but if anyone has any of the following Madman Entertainment-issued VHS tapes, please let me know via PM or as a reply:

Dragon Ball Z Vol. 3.17 - A Moment's Peace VHS (Edited)

Any edited VHS of Dragon Ball GT

I thank any potential takers for their time.

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 12; Still Unreleased

WOW! was a pipe dream for the reason that Michael Hirsh didn't have his heart in the endeavour. No pouring amounts of advertising money out of the gate, he's out of there before the battle even begins. You have to be willing to fail a little bit at least to be successful. True. WOW! was gonna fail ...

Re: Why did the early Westwood dub never air in Canada?

I skimmed through this thread so forgive me if this has been accurately answered already. So, basically. Ocean's in-house dub of episodes #108-167 were made very late in 2000, going into early 2001. Now, the Trunks Saga premiered on YTV in Canada the exact same date that it premiered on Cartoon Netw...

Re: Has the "less cuts" in the YTV airings of the Westwood dub claim ever been verified?

I have every episode of DB and DBZ recorded on VHS from YTV in SP speed all transferred. I can check any particular scenes if anyone can specify. Its been a few years since I've been active in this community to prevent burnout but I've recently decided to make a return again. From the top of my hea...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 12; Still Unreleased

God, so frustrating that, had WOW Unlimited's new channel actually worked out, there was a very very good chance we'd have this entire dub by now WOW! was a pipe dream for the reason that Michael Hirsh didn't have his heart in the endeavour. No pouring amounts of advertising money out of the gate, ...

Re: Did parts 1-4 on dvd and blu ray got reprints with the replacement score?

So is there any way to tell if the part 1-4 Bluray sets available on Amazon are Kikuchi or Yamamoto? I have the original 1-4 on DVD but I was thinking of upgrading to Bluray, but I don't want the music to change. I guess I'll just stick with the DVD sets I have if getting the blurays is a huge hass...

Re: Why did Cartoon Network revert back to the Saban dub in early 2006?

It still amazes me there was a time 3 episode DVDs cost around $30, whereas today you have fans holding out for Super season sets because they don't want to pay that much for 13 episodes on Blu-Ray. It is nice to see Dragon Ball sold well despite all that, it just goes to show how dedicated this fa...

Re: Why did Cartoon Network revert back to the Saban dub in early 2006?

Well, I had first gotten a blurb of this happening from a forum post from the time, reporting this. I want to say it was AnimeNewsNetwork, but I can't be sure. I definitely can't find that thread, but I did find this one from ToonZone (I'm not entertaining that joke of which they choose to call the...

Re: Why did Cartoon Network revert back to the Saban dub in early 2006?

FUNimation was still trying to sell those Ultimate Uncut DVDS (I think volume 8 and 9 hadn’t even come out yet) with Tivo still being a big thing they might have been worried about constant tv airings of the uncut dub would impact sales (why buy 3 episodes for $20 when I can just record these episo...

Re: Why did Cartoon Network revert back to the Saban dub in early 2006?

Now that you mention it I actually do remember something like that actually happening one time although in my case I believe it was for the second episode instead (I stumbled upon it by chance while channel surfing). I'm more than positive it was episode 2 because I recall Raditz at Kame House talk...

Why did Cartoon Network revert back to the Saban dub in early 2006?

So, here's one that I don't think has been broached anywhere since it first happened. After Cartoon Network's initial run of Dragon Ball Z's Ultimate Uncut Special Editon , (dubbed simply as Dragon Ball Z Uncut or DBZ Uncut by Cartoon Network) featuring the Saiyan and Namek "sagas" in thei...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 11; Still Unreleased

I read all of these rebuttals (as I eagerly awaited them, haha), and I agree with all of them to an extent, they are good points, but Nitro's response is the only one I feel I need to respond to. Subzero Ice saying what he said didn't change anything. Kirby Morrow and Paul Dobson both independently ...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 11; Still Unreleased

I kinda sometimes wonder, if SubZero Ice is just putthere, lurking on these boards now. I really hope not. Confession time, but I really don't care for that individual. Do I think he's lying about who he is? No, quite the opposite. But I resent the fact that he gave us so little to work with (presu...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 10; Still Unreleased

A couple of years ago, I reported that I had Episode #26 of Trevor Devall's "Voiceprint" podcast in my possession. This of course is the episode where the late, great Kirby Morrow had officially announced Ocean Kai's existence beyond mere heresay. I was advised to keep it to myself until ...

Yes, they did receive reprints with the new score briefly before the season sets came out. In fact, I made a video about it. :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gzs1BB89jiU That's part 4. What about parts 1-3? Sorry, I didn't buy extra copies of those just to confirm it for you, but they did receive...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 10; Still Unreleased

Do we actually know how many episodes of DBKAI Ocean dubbed, was it a few, did they do the entire thing, did they also do the final chapters? It's honestly pretty weird since there's no bad in releasing it right now. The first 98 episodes are in the books. TFC we have to assume wasn't dubbed but it...
