Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 10/30/23!)

To speculate: It’s known that the Dragonballs can’t grant wishes against the will of someone more powerful than their creator. Since the black star balls were created by the nameless namekian, who was definitely stronger than Kami, it makes some amount of sense that a wish from the regular dragonbal...

Re: A new Budokai Tenkaichi has been announced

tbh I probably wouldn't even put Black Frieza in the game until he's appeared more often

Re: A new Budokai Tenkaichi has been announced

Let's look at the necesary, plot critical fights. Don't have time for a full break down so I'll just do the Saiyan Saga In that case, can I do the Freeza arc and piggyback off of you? Since you're doing Frieza saga, I'll skip ahead to the Cell Saga 1. Trunks vs MechaFrieza- Requires Future Trunks w...

Re: A new Budokai Tenkaichi has been announced

Let's look at the necesary, plot critical fights. Don't have time for a full break down so I'll just do the Saiyan Saga Goku and Piccolo vs Raditz: Requires goku, Piccolo, and Raditz to be playable Nappa vs the Dragon Team: Requires Gohan, Krillin, Piccolo, and Nappa at the bare minimum. Tien and Ch...

Re: The All-Purpose "Translation Request" Thread

I have a question regarding the item Trunks gave to Goku to take for his Heart Virus. Every English Translation I can recall refers to this as Medicine. IE, something that you take in order to cure a disease you already have. As opposed to a Vaccine, something that you take in order to prevent yours...

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 2/6/23!)

The Wiki claims it's a pun on the word Gear, but even they say it's a "citation needed" thing, so I doubt that's reliable. One thought I had was that Giru might be an onomatopeia for some kind of computer sound effect, which would also be why he was repeating it. But that's pure speculatio...

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 11/7/22!)

Excellent start. As for why Baby gets plit into two arcs, I imagine that's an artifact of the English release, which skipped over much of the earlier episodes to get to Baby quicker, then went back an aired them as "Lost episodes". So many American fans got used to treating them as an enti...

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 5/23/22!)

Wiuth regards to the Music Box, I think we do have reason to believe that the vessel itself is special in this instance, as this vessel required the dragonballs to open, whereas the Mafuba Vessels could be opened normally. I always interpreted Bulma's actions as "trying to do the magical thing ...

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 3/28/22!)

I'm surprised you didn't mention the other puns In Pan's name, but this is a busy episode so it makes sense.

I never knew that there were two endings to the Manga, that's wild.

As for the Tournament, you make a very good point.

My headcanon on the tiny Buu is that removing all the absorbed characters caused Buu to crash to reset to factory default, to use a metaphor

Funny that Part 25 is coming out on Christmas, December 25th

As for Vegito's popularity: I imagine it's because the main things people remember are the Ki Sword and the Candy beatdown, and forget about the rest of it

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 12/11/21!)

What should have happened is that Gohan should have fought Boo as the Great Saiyaman.

At least that could have been entertaining in a similar way to the Gotenks fight

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged

Well, a man can still dream that Season 4 will be a thing someday... It's weird. If they hadn't cancelled season 4, then they could've maybe done a batch of episodes or the movies over the last year & change because of COVID. Not really. Having more time to throw your head against a wall doesn'...

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged

My big point of disagreement with this year's DBCember is that I think Kaioken and Fusion should have been elligible. Yes, they are unquestionably techniques, but technique and transformation are not mutually exclusive things.

Re: Defense: Are they always that tough?

In most space scifi, there's usually a scene where the leader order energy diverted from one thing to bolster another. I see ki being used in the same manner. I wold assume that also relies on the user doing adaquate training to do so. The same as speed, attack, and any other RPG-like stats. And, j...

Re: Defense: Are they always that tough?

Well of course there's the whole thing about being vulnerable when you let your guard down, but in the middle of a fight I would assume it would always be up. But your durability can also be compromised if you are injured or exhausted, as it's all based on ki. So after a tough and exhausting fight,...
