Re: Fan Works Explosion
So, I've had this picture sitting on my hard drive for a few years now. I really want to finish it, but I've got an issue with the pose and I'm not quite sure what to do to proceed. All I know is that the problem I need to address lies primarily in his left arm (foreshortening and position of his fo...

Re: How did you decide/get your avatar?
I forget the exact context, but I got my current avatar on LJ. Must have ganked it from someone else who'd been using it (with permission). Because, you know, it's Sokka. Raving. Yes/yes? I've wanted to make my own scouter avatar for a while (and in fact, I think I have one or two photoshops still i...

Re: Taking a break from Dragon Ball.
My interest just kind of fizzled out for the past couple of years. It started trickling back sometime last semester and has now finally hit full-force again in the last couple of weeks. I'm measuring this by frequency of fanart, among other things. I completely stopped drawing Dragon Ball sometime b...

Re: Dragon Ball Reboot
Correct. He is an alien with white skin, round eyes, black hair, average height. So what do we have on Earth to compare that to if we wanted to put him into a movie....a caucasian male. Going by that logic, MOST anime characters (barring the ones with silly eye and hair colors) are Caucasian in app...

Re: How does the remastering look on the Dragon Ball Blue Boxes
Hmm... focusing on just the comparison images in this thread for now. They seem to crop a little too much for my liking. Personally, I think I'll just wait and see whether or not FUNi gets to release the Dragon Boxes for this part of the series. If they do, awesome. But if not... well, I can probabl...

Re: Re:
Yeah, I suppose. But still, I don't think the artist traced those pics off of the TV screen itself. And it still takes skill to copy a pose so well just by eye. Then to customize and and add new things, and then to do the amazing coloring job that person did. Doesn't have to be a TV screen. One can...

Yeah there was a good minicomic where Salagir's character was pretty much murdered by the angry mob because he could not please all the fans. Here take a look. Still as much as I love ... like .... kinda tolerate Broly, and feel it is believable that he could get this strong, the story needs ...

Re: One of the best DB/Z fanartists I've ever seen
You cant tell me that this was traced http://southerndesigner.deviantart.com/art/Goku-vs-Superman-145566903 No, it certainly doesn't look like it. But the linework WAS certainly borrowed from someone else. I'd've probably linked to the original one here , as it seems to make your point better. But ...

Personally, I find it boring when people just copy a preexisting style for something. If you don't do it with absolute perfection ala Announcerguy it just comes off as a lame imitation with nothing new brought to the table. I've always found it much more interesting when people use their own styles...
