Re: It's just so weird hearing Goku curse.
I've never got the "they are in a life and death situation, so they will start dropping f-bombs" argument. It implies that people WANT to swear all the time, and it's only society with it's rules (man) that's holding us back, and if we were in a situation where we were allowed to relax tho...

Re: Cell a Solar System Buster ?
I agree. As long as we're sensible, there's nothing wrong with bringing in real physics for a fun discussion. Otherwise we might as well stop all these threads by making the second post "It's a fictional series. Don't take it seriously". And then maybe going out for pie.

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
There is something I've thought of regarding Ocean Kai though. What if Kix saw a screener for both dubs but were put off from airing Ocean's dub because of the fact that it's supposed to be using Japanese pronunciations? I mean all this business of calling Namek Nawmek and possibly other stuff. Jap...

Re: How do scouters work?
The thing is, one of the scouters main features is the ability to read someone's battle power level. So if it explodes after reading ones that are too high... it's like your mobile phone exploding because it somehow gets too good a phone signal. Thermometers can burst when they overheat. And that i...

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
In this day and age what channel it's is fairly irrelevant (see how we were able to follow Kai's original airing live in Japan fairly painlessly if you wanted) Don't make the mistake of assuming that we are the majority fanbase. Kix aren't going to be ignoring the adult fans, but they aren't their ...

Re: Short filler scenes you love.
I loved the scene in the Cell-Game arc when Gohan is trying to kill Cell with his Kamehame-Ha. Everyone helped out and shot ki blasts at Cell even though they knew it would be futile. Thanks to that, I believe Vegeta was also influenced to help, and so, his help caught Cell off-guard and Gohan unle...

Re: How do scouters work?
They work very well, thank you. I don't know, they have a bad habit of exploding whenever they run into any sort of technical difficulty. That's not the sort of thing many people would tolerate in, for instance, a cell phone. If my cell phone could read people's battle power, I wouldn't mind it exp...

Re: Daizenshuu EX DB wiki...again
There's the approach the TF Wiki takes with the US/UK comics. Quick background... in the UK, the original monthly US Transformers comic strip was released weekly. It had about half the pages. As a result, it quickly ripped through the US stuff and needed to kill time waiting for more stuff to be wri...

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
I wonder how they'll pronounce the letter Z, because in UK, we say Zed not Zee. Besides that, it would only leave people in confusion as to what is "Zee" in UK. About 3/4 of cartoons on TV are American, and kids can cope with that fine. Likewise Sesame Street. And, obviously, they aired t...

Re: Dragon Ball plotholes and your theories!
#17 and #18 end up being the main artificial humans is more like a retcon then a plot hole. Just to clear something up here... A retcon is literally retroactive continuity... it is something that has always been assumed to be true, but we are now only just learning. Goku being a Saiyan all along is...

Re: Uhm.. Am I missing something here? (Drummond VS Sabat)
Well, to be honest, the voice itself is what puts it below Mr. Sabat for me. It reminds me of Frank Welker's Megatron circa 1984, which is a voice that I do not enjoy. Really, there's nothing wrong with it, but it feels too stereotypical for me. It's interesting that either Welker or the voice dire...

Re: Dub fans on about the 'manly' voice for Goku..
Sean Schemmel isn't necessarily bassy in his voice, but it's too... eh, beefy. Mature. That could easily be the voice of a super hero. When he acts silly, it just seems forced. :? Y'know, I'd have said the exact opposite. I much prefer him playing "light" Goku than "super serious&quo...

Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
I thought that voice recording in Japan was normally done seperately. I know in the US, there's only a handful of cartoons that do the "radio-show" style of recoding, Batman:TAS and the Simpsons being the two most famous.

Re: A Next Gen cast
I do agree about the characters often being what makes people watch the show. On the other hand ... Lots of people would agree that one of the main things Star Trek had going for it was the chemistry between the three leads. People loves Kirk, Spock and McCoy, so it would be madness creating a new s...

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
This is a country that by the time of the Buu saga had changed Goku's voice actor 5 times, using 4 different actors. Gohan too, although one of them can be excused by his aging.
I don't think another voice can make things much worse.

If it is a Dragon Ball Dragon Box, I really hope that they include the eyecatchers! Why wouldn't they? Also, just for future reference, it's supposed to be eyecatch es . :) The season sets include the eyecatches. So yeah, there's no reason why any Dragon Box wouldn't. I'm also holding off on buying...
