Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 100

Other than time, the other issues Tate Naoki has to face is typically working with a bad storyboard or episode director. If you teamed Tate up with a good director (Nagamine, for example) and let him focus entirely on his own cuts for two months he could easily turn in 100+ high quality cuts. The t...

Re: Fanmanga - another DBAF

I finally read YoungJijii's DBAF ! I liked his original ideas most, like Pan and Gohan's storyline, Goten becoming a dad and the Makai fighters and the new dragons. I was pretty exasperated by how the number of references increased the longer that the series went on. I hope he relies more on origina...

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 100

Tate did too many cuts in a short amount of time. He should stick to only doing one or two good cuts a day to maintain the quality so that the timing and overall effect is better. Some of Piccolo's character acting did make me hard, though. I wish Tate and Higashide were not left alone to carry an e...

I will be happy to see a Super Saiyan God Vegeta. I hope Toyo-tarou's idea of Vegeta using God as a new specialty is worked into the animated series.

God may as well be used if they're going to use the others forms.

Re: Will the 'End of Z' Timeline still be Adhered to?

I don't much see what it matters. I imagine that once Shueisha is ready to move past the Twenty-Eighth Tenka'ichi Budoukai Toyo-tarou will be allowed to write story arcs that Toei Animation will adapt into their own series.

Wasn't Pokèmon's schedule flawless?

It's masterful, especially in the Asada Yuuji episodes. That doesn't mean there isn't a ton of reuse.

Now that we've had a magical girl tribute I hope there's a girl that winds up being an idol, if not in this arc then in a future arc. I need a dance scene and song!

I do love that they threw in a yuri pairing, too. Definitely fun, considering the current PreCure has a yuri pairing, too.

Re: Who could be Masako Nozawa’s successor?

No one. After Nozawa retired or passes away, Dragonball should come to an end. For stuff like the videogames they now have millions of sound clips of Goku from old episodes or videogames they can re-use. Japan would never recast an iconic character as Goku. It is blasphemy in Japan especially for t...

Re: Who could be Masako Nozawa’s successor?

I imagine Toei Animation and company will employ an experienced actor. In that case, the best choice is Park Romi, who has the range to pull off all of Nozawa Masako's roles. There's also a slim chance of hiring a young unknown, which will make it easier for them to voice Gokuu for sixty-plus years.

Re: Will Dragon ever get a true 100% reanimation?

I want to see Kamatani Haruka direct a remake series, just to see what she'd pull off if given the creative freedom to do as she pleases. She seems like she can offer a more vivid visual image than what Okazaki and Nishio did for their series.

Yeah, those Namekians sure do feel like they're based heavily on Piccolo and Slug. I wonder if they're a duo? Maybe their Namekians are generally evil and these two are our new Vegeta and Nappa?

Re: Will Dragon ever get a true 100% reanimation?

I doubt we'll ever get an Otaku-aimed series that is produced like a seasonal anime of one or two cours at a time. Dragon Ball appeals too much to a mainstream crowd to get anything but the usual poor, low-level productions of long-running series like Dragon Ball so far has received. It's a shame, b...
