Re: Kai Episode 86 (19th December 2010)
This week on Dragon Ball Kai ...!! Son Gokû travels to New Planet Namek to ask a Namekian to become Earth's God and make some Balls. Dende volunteers, ensuring a reunion between Gohan and Dende. Also, Mr. Satan announces he'll be participating in the Cell Games. The Gang set off for the Cell Games w...

I can speak from experience...typing this behemoth while holding a tankôbon open was a pain in the ass. I'm sorry I didn't get far enough to be of any help. >_<

I love the supposed fate of he and Vegeta in Dragon Ball Online. It seems right for those two to bring an end to their era and a beginning to the next with their deaths.

I would have to say the entrances of Piccolo. The use of his theme always sets the mood for a great surge of triumph. Return My Gohan!! probably has my favorite arrangement, though.

Re: Toriko animated series takes Kai's timeslot in April?!
'Animate' it stateside? That'd cost FUNimation more money than Toei current puts into the series. Guys, if Toei drops Kai they drop it. No foreign licensee is going to be able to afford to pick up the slack, let alone the rights. Not for nothing but didn't Funimation commission someone to animate A...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming...
As far as I'm concerned, Ocean's dub of Kai is far more important than Funimation's dub of Kai. Ugh, here we go again......... Seriously, how do you figure? And please don't say the Ocean dub has more fans. Well, a secondary English dub being made by a studio just as prolific is a pretty odd occura...

Re: So, why aren't we talking about this bill?
Now that Toonzone is back up I figured I'd post a little summary of what this bill means . Bare in mind this was written before the bill passed. Considering the server trouble we've been having I think it's best to post the whole thing here. This could very well affect future Dragon Ball comics and ...

Re: Toriko animated series takes Kai's timeslot in April?!
If Toei does cancel Kai, what if FUNi continues doing it in-house? It can't be all that pricey, but it's really up to toei.. FUNi could do faux kai? You know I've always wondered this myself. I mean even if they can't get Toei to produce the episodes how hard would it be to animate it stateside(tha...

Re: Toriko animated series takes Kai's timeslot in April?!
FUNimation would have to license film prints for up-scaling to 1080p, watch and edit the episodes to their own whim, and then figure out what to do with the scripts. That's not even including what they would do with the 'new animation'. It'd be a pain in the ass, just like redubbing every else they ...

Re-using the old audio would also mean inconsistent voices for the future games, movies, specials, and stuff.

Re: So, why aren't we talking about this bill?
The discussion thread on Toonzone has pretty detailed looks into what will happen now that the bill has passed (of course, the server's down at the moment). Basically, from what I'm reading, shônen are going to take a pretty big hit. I know Bleach 's author has come out and said he's fearful the law...

Re: Slight Forum Sub-Section Re-Naming
It sounds like a good idea to me. I think seperating in-universe discussion from production discussion will clear up a lot of either of the current two forums and allow more focus for both. I've certainly become more interested in the production of comic and animation over the years and having a sol...

Re: Toriko animated series takes Kai's timeslot in April?!
Something to not forget is we don't know how many 'seasons' of Toriko have been ordered. It could just be a twenty-six episode season, although that beckons the question of "why bother now?" The Toriko comic that runs in Weekly Shônen JUMP is only up to 112 chapters, so Toei might just ada...

I'm not sure if it is worth it...but have any of you fine Japanese-speaking fellers or fellets considering shooting Toei (Japan) an email about the situation? Or should we just assume official confirmation will come soon enough?

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a238/YBM/TorikotakesoverDragonBallKaistimeslot.jpg I thought Dragon Ball Kai might move to prime time too, however...from what I remember reading from Greg Werner Fuji TV doesn't place anime in the prime time anymore.
