Re: What have the American/UK Dubs... DONE RIGHT?

- The dubbed Openings/Endings. FUNimation's "Gradually, You’re Charming My Heart" is IMO better than the original. - Making the show more funnier. I never really found the Japanese version funny, the FUNimation version however, hilarious. - Not erasing Japanese characters, which is a comm...

Re: What have the American/UK Dubs... DONE RIGHT?

The original 3 movies were done really well. I watched my old copy of Dead Zone the other day, and it was just so badass. Funny story on that, for me. When Toonami had aired all three (edited) movies during DBZ20XL (was that it? I'm pretty sure it is, correct me if I'm wrong), my brother and I had ...

Re: How many of you own the entire series?

Manga too? Nice. I own all 42 of 'em, on the american Viz side of things. As for DVDs...oh lord. Dragonball: Box Sets Vol. 2 - 8.1 (these are hard to find without online stores nowadays...sadface on missing out on the last half of number 8 and all of number 9.) Blue Brick Season One (...yeah, I'm ho...

Re: Kai Episode 43 (6 February 2010)

Was I the only one that was REVOLTED at the sight of Kuririn's orange gi appearing out of nowhere? That shit shouldn't have been tolerated then, much less twenty or so years later, with remastered scenes! They spent all of that effort on recoloring Vegeta's palette during his first appearance early ...

Re: Has Dragon Ball ever made you do anything silly?

And of course, doing Kamehameha hand motions here and there . Doesn't everyone? :P I remember way way back, when Toonami aired the Garlic Jr. Saga during their "New Year's Evil" I stayed up all night watching it, while doing push-up, sit-ups, punches and kicks during commercial breaks. :l...

Re: What have the American/UK Dubs... DONE RIGHT?

Originally in Z, while Gohan's fighting Vegeta, he stops and prepares to launch a Masenko...and then shouts Kamehame-Ha. When FUNi redubbed the scene, Gohan says Masenko instead. Toei made sure to use the correct name in Kai. Got that one already, my man. First post, actually. No worries....

Re: Has Dragon Ball ever made you do anything silly?

I once pointed my finger at a planet in hopes of blowing it to bits, like Freeza. It worked. I wondered what happened to Pluto. Alright, well in all seriousness...something Dragon Ball has made me do sillyish. Hmmm. Purchase all of the BK Toys from the Cartoon Network Season 3 airing, even th...

Re: What have the American/UK Dubs... DONE RIGHT?

Two lines of dialogue: Goku: "Hey Vegeta, look! People-popcorn!" Vegeta: *sigh* " What is he on? " Absolutely priceless. Gotta give the dub props for that classic exchange. I don't know why I had forgotten about that! That bit is wonderful. There are also a number of lines I enj...

Re: What have the American/UK Dubs... DONE RIGHT?

I thought it was kinda neat to hear Majin-Boo say "Saiya-jin?". It didn't really make any sense, but it was still cool. And I love getting English versions of the openings and endings. Though, I really wish they'd stop making their own music to go along with it. :x And although this isn't...

What have the American/UK Dubs... DONE RIGHT?

Before everyone says it, yes. I am a newbie. To post. I've actually been stalking the entire board for years until now, so... *ahem* Can we collectively agree on something as a whole? Probably not, as it is a wonderfully diverse message board...but, maybe a good chunk could agree? 80%? 90%? T...
