Re: Dragon Ball Kai (2009) vs. Dragon Ball Super
Wakamoto's the only one that sticks out as bad in Kai, then you have good replacements like Katsuyuki Konishi & company's Ginyu Forces, Hikaru Midorikawa's superb Tenshinhan, and Aya Hirano's passionate Dende which revitalize smaller roles.

Re: Gohan at the Cell Games
They seem to get along well in Z. It's implied Gohan visits and plays with Trunks. I agree that's pretty much gone in Super.Krillin1994 wrote:I meant with Kid trunks and Gohan. Goku isn't about during the 7 year gap.

Re: Gohan at the Cell Games
A bit annoying that they emphasised the Trunks-Mai relationship between timelines moreso than the Gohan-Trunks one. Well, in Trunks' timeline, Gohan's little more than a Goku surrogate, so I can see why Trunks would be interested in Goku in the prime timeline. It's probably hard for an adult to loo...

Re: Gohan at the Cell Games
And may I remind you, this pacifist characteristic that Gohan suddenly gained when fighting Cell in the Cell Games is never brought up again in any capacity after the Cell arc. Not entirely true. It came up earlier than that when Gohan was training with Piccolo and when he was fighting the Saiyans....

Re: Gohan at the Cell Games
The main complaint I hear is that Gohan should've had some sort of explanation for why he's suddenly become more passive after he actively fought on Namek. I personally think it's pretty easy to chalk it up to Gohan's maturity from the 5(?) years Gohan fought on Namek to when he faced Cell. I also t...

Re: Was Kai made for US viewers in mind?
soundtrack was similar to Faulconer Wow, I mean I've heard that Yamamoto's tracks sound similar to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Journey, James Horner, Danny Elfman, and others but never Faulcouner. The only similarity I can think of is they both used a lot of computer-synthesized music,...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
So decrease of a franchise means cancellation. What about One Piece and Precure then? Okay, I mean this question on its own shows that you didn't read the article or earnings graphs I posted. Anyway, since we're not disagreeing on the Kai/Super comparison, I don't have much else to add to my origin...

There's actually much more to Kanzenshuu's conclusion if you looked at their article I linked. I mean, just looking at the slump in sales from Kai's release in 2009 alone backs their conclusion: [spoiler] http://www.kanzenshuu.com/generalinfo/features/kaievolution_chart7-large.png?x17128 http://www....

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
I'm going by this site's article on The Evolution of Dragon Ball Kai . Specifically From the beginning, based on Toei Animation’s projected episode count, it appeared as though they were only planning Kai as far ahead as whatever the current arc was. And to the point of Kai 1.0's failure as a show I...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
Yes, I was pretty sure that was a false rumor, but really the only point I was making with Kai is that Toei could have produced more episodes immediately if it was as successful as Dragon Ball Super. Of course, we all know Kai went on to be internationally successful and Buu Kai was made later, but ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
This should be common sense for anyone who has watched a cartoon as a child. A Saturday morning airing for a cartoon is the most favorable time slot a cartoon can get, as that's when programs designed for young children usually air their new episodes or episodes in general. The top rated anime: Saz...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
It always confuses me on how people fail to grasp that. It's not hard logic. Yeah, I mean, I understand that it's easy to look at a set of numbers, see a low one and think of that as like a failing grade. But if you're not looking at other factors you're really missing out on a huge part of the rat...

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
I don't who came up with the headcannon that placement ranks aboves ratings, I actually need some proof of that. This isn't a NASCAR race. 1. Head canon is used to describe a fan's opinions on what should be considered canon in fiction. See also, fanon. 2. The percentage numbers are arbitrary becau...

You guys think dragon ball kai should of started of with dragon ball and gone all the way to buu? I think it would been awesome is they started kai right in the beginning of the series and would make it feel more complete. Yes! I would love it! I mean Dragon Ball Kai purpose was to be a series clos...

Baikinman? Definitely, he's been iconic for around 50 years now.Chuquita wrote:If we're talking about Japan exclusively, I think he'd probably tie with whoever the bad guy in Anpanman is (who I think is also voiced by Ryusei Nakao) and maybe Dio Brando from JJBA.

Re: Things that grind your gears
While some of the older cast falls out of relevance in the Buu arc, new support characters do become relevant. Goten and Trunks, and to a certain degree Mr. Satan and Dende all have important story roles.

Re: Dragon Ball Kai (2009) vs. Dragon Ball Super
Since the first 27 episodes of Super were just an adaptation, I think it's fair game to specifically compare those to Dragon Ball Kai. At episode 27 of Kai, the Saiyan arc had just finished. Kai's story was well-paced, the action sequences were to the point and well-timed, the music placement ranged...

For the sake of being informative I'll link YouTube's copyright FAQ. It covers a lot of questions, though it can't specifically address every situation. I think it's a good read and it's impressive a lot of the topics answered in this thread are in the FAQ.

Re: Dragon Ball and Fair Use
Like TheGreatness25 , I can't give expert advice, but it does seem like the length of the content, i.e. the amount of copyrighted images in one video is getting you in trouble. But, do keep in mind even very minimal use of copyrighted/trademarked material puts you on Toei/Funimation's radar. It's up...
