Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I hate to rain on anybody's parade, but he's clearly talking about the third arc of Dragon Ball Super in context. Maybe the Spanish subtitles say otherwise (haven't studied it since high school), but he doesn't mention anything about a new movie.

Re: DBZ Cosplays & Clothing, where do you stand?
Something I noticed years ago was how we occasionally see characters wearing a sort of zoot pants. I know they came back into style during the 80s in America, parts of Western Eruope and Japan, but I didn't think it would extend into Dragon Ball. We see Vegeta wearing them here: http://puu.sh/j5kwk...

Similar perhaps in that it would be common courtesy in a group of male friends, but it's not terribly similar otherwise.huzaifa_ahmed wrote:I have not seen any posts yet that relate "kun" to being similar to "dude" in tone and subject of direction.
They are quite similar.

Re: Differences between san and kun?
"-kun" (くん) is generally for someone about your own age or younger than you that you are intimately (note: not necessarily sexual) familiar with. Bulma has known Goku since he was just a kid (as was she), and he's a little bit younger than her, so he'll always just be "Son-kun" ...

Re: General Red's Irish accent in the dub
It was the red hair, probably.
For what it's worth, the accent was at times more Scottish(-ish), and at times more Irish(-ish), although it wasn't really a good approximation of either.

Re: Romanizations in the manga/Super
There's a teeny-tiny banner held by a fan at the Tenka'ichi Budōkai where Videl's name is spelled "BEEDEL". This is, to my knowledge, the only time her name is romanized in the manga proper.

Under "ハ", Grandma Hakkake's name is typo'd. http://www.kanzenshuu.com/tidbits/kanji-symbol-guide/ Fixed. Also reworked the explanation to include the more obvious reference to "Hakkake", or the Eight Trigrams. "fulfil" instead of fulfill http://www.kanzenshuu.com/mang...

Re: For those who know Japanese: Where and how did you learn
I started teaching myself hiragana and katakana with flashcards while still in high school (yes, because of Dragon Ball ). I also occasionally met with a military spouse originally from Kōchi, who was living in the area at the time. She had experience teaching English to native Japanese speakers, an...

Re: General Website Goofs/Errors
In the same vein as Kanzenshuu using alternate title pages for chapters 12 , 13 , 18 , 19 , and 44 , would it be appropriate to describe the title pages used in the tankobon for chapters 65 and 165 as the "definitive version" in so many words? They are exactly the same after all, just wit...

Someone told recently that in Shenron Times 73, Toriyama wrote DBGT is "happening in a sort of parerell universe". Bullshit, or truth? Herms, Julian? No. While we haven't gotten around to translating all of Toriyama's comments in general, he has not said anything of the sort in anything w...

Akira Toriyama didn't draw that. Toyotarō did.Flame Dragon wrote:I don't like when he makes everyone look anorexic. Thankfully it looks like he's backtracking a bit on that with the RoF manga.

Re: Where was the manga when the anime was decided upon?
You'd think the main site would mention which Jump issue makes the announcement, but it's not there (yet). http://www.kanzenshuu.com/manga/chp-051/ The title page of this chapter in both the original serialization and the tankōbon release contained an announcement that Dragon Ball was being animate...

And I've never heard of Shin Dodonpa. Turns out that it's called "Neo Dodonpa", if the wikia is correct about the Japanese name. http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/Neo_Dodon_Ray I assumed that it was called Shin Dodonpa in Japan, since they changed Shin Kikoho into Neo Tri-Beam, and since t...

Will we see some new guides soon since the guides for Transformations, timeline and video games where never made. The front site still has them crossed out on the guide section of the site. We keep working on them, but more stuff keeps coming out that we need to add. This, on top of jobs, marriages...
