That little teaser pretty much tips the scales that this will be a CG feature, or at the very least they will lean on it heavily.
How bitterly disappointing.
Also the baked shading in his gi looks atrocious, when the camera rotates around him it just looks so lifeless.

I like Super Saiyan God.
I think Blue is a stupid palette swap that should have disappeared a long time ago.

There's a few tidbits of nice animation but it is otherwise a terrible story.

Re: For those of you who saw DBZ first...
For me honestly, it was how similar it was.
I'd read the discourse online in the early 00's and people (I would argue disingenuously) referred to it as a more comedic series. Post RR it's basically the same show as Z.

Re: If Toei ever announces they'll do a Blu-ray Dragon box
It depends. I'm so beaten and bruised by so many terrible releases that I don't even know anymore. That said if they just did something like the Spanish DB BD's for Z and GT I'd probably bite. They're not incredible but they do benefit from the increased bitrate and are even a subtle improvement in ...

Re: Elements of DB that look dated
I think it was Julian that said that Dragon Ball doesn't have much depth - it has a lot of breadth. World building is an incidental to the way Toriyama tells stories, he just drops morsels as he goes and they accumulate over the decades. I think the instances where he really has tried to flesh thing...

Wow! I don't know how I missed these! Amazing work. If I could make a suggestion - I think the non- Nakatsuru artwork for the Japanese Dragon Box Z really stands out, they would be perfect with something like this piece from Budokai 2 https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Eicz9HzXYAIBMBt?format=png&name=9...

BUT SO explain why actual remasters are green? your comment is irrelevant as you explain why it should turn red magenta tinted but facts are that it's green exactly like actual taste in color grading . Except the Dragon Box is a remaster? There are blue tinted episodes in DB and green tinted episod...

Re: Dragon Ball Movies HD Remaster - Amazon Video/Netflix Japan - Discussion Thread
I think its lost on some people here that the "masters" they're comparing are from different sources. You can't compare an aged 16mm print with a composite transfer digi-beta tape. There are inherent colour issues associated with each medium. The Dragon Boxes are actually a good example - ...

Re: Dragon Ball Movies HD Remaster - Amazon Video/Netflix Japan - Discussion Thread
The green tint is for it to look correct on Japanese televisions. It's supposed to be disabled for export, but clearly for The Final Chapters and Funimation's master of Broly, they forgot. Sorry but that is just complete nonsense . Just think about it - according to you every R2 DVD and Japanese re...

Re: Dragon Ball Movies HD Remaster - Amazon Video/Netflix Japan - Discussion Thread
The Amazon/Netflix ones were put out several months ahead of the Blu-Rays...so who know why the fuck they decided to further tinker with something that had an overwhelmingly great reception, but well...Toei! They were great but its a pity about the green tint. Is there someone with a poorly calibra...

I know I'm a bit late to the party on this one - but you really can see how heavily corrected this chapter is. There is some great art and great layout work which are two things I do not associate with Toyotaro.

Looking to buy the Saiyan Conflict, Namek Saga, first 3 DBZ movie Pioneer DVD box sets if anyone is selling them for a decent price. I have them but they’re the PAL Madman R4 releases. If you have a modern region free player and television they should play no problem. That said I’m located in Austr...

Is there any interest in the Chouzenshuu and the Chougashu?
I've got the full set and it's just sitting in storage so I'd be happy to part with it but postage from Australia would be expensive.

Re: Why does Infinite World get overlooked?
The game never even released in Australia so I couldn't play it. That and Sagas were the two DBZ PS2 games that never saw a release in Australia. I never cared to play them because I heard so many bad things about them. Huh? I hadn't actually gotten into DB at that point, but I distinctively ...

I read Vegeta's refusal to use instantaneous movement again as a way to keep the status quo. This arc reads like Toyotaro was allowed to come up with an idea entirely on his own, provided it didn't have any long term ramifications on future projects. He didn't come up with it on his own, as he said...

I would happily discount them for a member outside of eBay.

Re: Level 1.1 back...in stock?
On the title cards sure.
But @Robo4900 seems to think there was some additional noise added to the picture following the DNR pass. This isn't true, the grain structure in the Level sets is from the film itself - not added in post like the 30th Anniversary set.
