Re: Anyone else annoyed at Crunchyroll's subs?
Well, so much for the "Use Funi terms where they exist, make up new terms if Funi left some untranslated" theory. Instead of "Tri-Beam" we got "Ki Blast Cannon" (IIRC) Not the first time they've broken this rule. "King Kai Fist" is another notable example. Ki...

Re: The manga's ending vs GT's ending
GT wasn't always the best it could be, but its ending was magnificent. Especially the montage of Goku's life with Dan Dan Kokoro Hikareteku playing.

Re: Nozawa's panel at Supernova Australia quick reflections
Anyway, this sounds like it was a really cool event! Meeting any of the DB voice actors (or even other staff) in general would be amazing. It was totally awesome. I've met several of the English cast before, as well as Japanese actors from others shows, but meeting someone the original Japanese Dra...

Re: Nozawa's panel at Supernova Australia quick reflections
The panel was great. I got two questions in. One about how she differentiates Goku, Gohan and Goten (which basically amounted to "I don't really think about it, I just do.") and what character she'd like to be if she wasn't Goku. (Which she said she's so attached to Goku that she couldn't ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" FUNimation Dub Official Discussion Thread
Plus, as long as they read the manga, or at least skim it, they should know which characters appear & which out-of-towner voice actors to schedule to record, if they need them, since One Piece's main cast all live in Texas & it's only secondary & tertiary characters that are voiced by n...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" FUNimation Dub Official Discussion Thread
It's not happening. Literally almost a 0% chance. There's no way they're caught up given what we've known of the recording schedule so far. Maybe it'll happen someday, but not yet. Who says that they have to be caught up to do a simuldub? They could easily skip ahead to Universe Survival and fill i...

That was only in the uncut version though, on TV those chants were "Hercule, Hercule".GigaDrill wrote:Considering that the Funidub had people chant "Satan, Satan" I don't think even they cared by the end

They could've called him Mr. Saturn, his strength is out of this world! And it's not a million miles from Satan (especially the Japanese pronunciation.)

Re: Nozawa appearing at Supernova Melbourne!!!
Oh man, Melbourne. I'm so tempted, but I don't know if I could swing it. I'd probably need the Friday and Monday off work to get there and back, plus figuring out accommodation, plus the fact that airfares, accommodation, admission and autographs all add up... Oof. (Not to mention that even if I did...

Re: "Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters" FUNimation English Dub Official Announcement and Discussion Thread
I've actually thought about that for the Bardock and Trunks specials because, if anything needs re-dubbing, it's the Bardock special. Obviously I'd prefer a complete re-dub of the original series and some of the movies as well, but I think, realistically, funding a re-script and re-dub of at least ...

I recall Goku saying "Ki" in one of Budokai 3's training scenarios. That's the only instance of it I ever recall from the English cast.Scsigs wrote:The only game I remember them explicitly saying "ki" in dialogue was that terrible DBZ: Sagas game & even then, only in the tutorial.

Isn't this already more or less the same plot as Fusions? Someone wishes for a Time-Space Tournament and everything from throughout time and space is brought together with everyone there for the big tournament.

Re: Kyle Hebert's narration is so out place with the Japanese score
It's been a while since I've watched the DBZ dub with the Japanese score, but I didn't really feel Hebert stuck out too bad. But I agree he doesn't fit at well as Armstrong or Morgan. If you want to hear some really hilariously out of place narration though, listen to Andy Chandler's GT narrator wit...

Re: Would you like to see Japan do a live-action DB feature?
I've enjoyed quite a few Japanese live action film adaptations of anime and manga, with several of them being Shonen Jump properties like Dragon Ball. So I'm willing to give a Japanese live action film a shot. My main concern for such a project though would be whether they'll manage the visuals well...

I'm not up to date on any of this stuff- what's 'The Douglas situation'? A little while before the Super dub was announced, Jason Douglas posted a photo that was seemingly taken while recording Beerus's lines for episode 1. Sabat immediately backpedaled saying "It's not what you think" an...

So they're really already starting work on the arc huh? Cool. And yeah prefer if they sound the U. Not necessarily. To be fair, the games are Bandai Namco's business, not Toei's. Toei likely had no say on the Xenoverse stuff, unlike the anime.Valerius Dover wrote:Still, wonder what all the fuss is about, anyway? TFS Nappa's voice in Xenoverse didn't appear to be a problem, so why does Toei start complaining now?

Re: "Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters" FUNimation English Dub Official Announcement and Discussion Thread
The episode count has very little to do with the amount of money the make. If they were cutting this like they did the Freeza Arc, there would still be 65-ish episodes, and the home releases would be divided similarly to how they are now. I don't know why they kept so much in, but money isn't a dec...

Seeing as Recut's purpose is to remove as much filler as possible, I imagine that scene would be cut altogether.simtek34 wrote:Are you gonna (Hopefuly) use the TFS version of the Cell Game Reenacement in DBZ and Kai Recut?
