Community Skype Chat?

Post by Big Momma » Mon May 13, 2013 3:57 pm

Would anyone on the forums be up for a Kanzenshuu Skype group? Not to take away from the IRC, but I've noticed it's not all that active. I was thinking that perhaps more people use Skype, so why not have a group chat on there? I've heard you can have upwards of 300 people in a Skype chat (Not that we'd need that many spots), and I think it's something more people use. Of course, I'm sure there may be people who are put off, or less inclined to do voice chat, but this can strictly be for text (And I think there is a smaller limit on calls, 20 or less, IIRC).

So would anyone be up for that? I just figured I'd throw the idea out there, perhaps to get more active chat groups. If there's enough people interested, we can just start posting our Skype names and get a group going.

Don't you need to pay to have a big party chat on Skype?

Not sure on if you were to try and cram like 50 or so people in a chat, but I'm on Skype almost constantly, and one group of me and my friends has a good 20 people (though most are never on all at once) and it works just fine for free.

Count me in if this goes somewhere.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
I can't promise I'd be super active all the time even if I'm on a lot, but I'd be willing to give it a go too, yeah.

That's only if you turn on webcams.

Anyway, my Skype is blaataap92 - I'm pretty much always on because I leave my PC to do stuff even when I'm asleep, but that doesn't always mean I'm there or able to accept calls (the other people in the house get mad if I start talking at 3 AM ;p)
I'm Rosie (she/her). My username is a chuuni holdover from nearly two decades ago

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

Okay, someone will have to explain this to me, since I'm very new to skype (I've only used it once for a podcast). Do I just sign in, join a group and start talking to whoever is on? Are you guys using mics or the chatbox? Please excuse my ignorance.

You just sign in, and then get added to the group by someone in it, and then...well, from there you chat away. Mics are always an option, but so far it's mostly been text-based conversations (which works for me, given how rarely I'm alone to use a microphone in the first place).
