Will Kanzenshuu at some point branch out?

Post by Xeztin » Thu Oct 22, 2015 1:53 pm

Kanzenshuu is the most reputable site for Dragon Ball facts, and lore out there, and it has a great community to boot. Basically as the title say's after the DB Wiki is finished, do you guy's ever think you'll branch out into other Manga/Anime? such as Naruto or One Piece. For example, A Kanzenshuu version of Naruto.

That's up to someone else to do.

Our work with Dragon Ball will/can never be finished!

(Secret side note: at least one of the four of us not saying who it was started planning something to branch out many years back and hahahahahaha maybe if Dragon Ball stayed dead...?)

I would love to have another subforum dedicated for exclusively talking about Toriyama's other works. What better community to ask a question about, say, Dr. Slump than Kanzenshuu?

Dragon Ball, stay dead long enough for any of you guys to even eyeball another property? Nice dream you got there, Mike. :P

I definitely think we could use a small forum section dedicated to Toriyama's other works. Outside of Dr. Slump, they're all so short and relatively unknown that it's not like they'd get a huge enough traffic to take away from the main focus of the site and forum I doubt, but at the same time, this is pretty much the only place one would ever likely encounter detailed info on them either. It's a win win.

Agreed!
Though I understand that Vegetto EX, and the other's have a busy schedule keeping up with Dragon Ball alone, and balancing it with their real lives. Dragon Ball has branched out to the point where it's insane, you have these games, Heroes, Super, the movies, the Super Manga, and what's crazy is it's all going at the same time! I Honestly can't imagine adding to that load. Especially focusing on other on-going series, but Dr. Slump or any of Toriyama's other completed works, may be something worth adding. If for some odd miracle, Dr. Slump came back introducing new content, it'd be to much i'd say. With DBS though I don't think Toriyama intend's to revive any of his older series since DB was the most famous.

Sandland has no outright ties to Dragon Ball. Satan is not Dabra, just like Muten Roshi is not God (Dr. Slump).
Direct translations of the Korean DB Online timeline and guidebook.
My personal "canon" and BP list. (Coming Soon)

This. I don't get why we don't have this.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Seconded. I find the lack of section to discuss other Toriyama works on Kanzenshuu disturbing.

Define "disturbing" because that sounds a bit hyperbolic to me here. :?

From our side, something I really can't stress enough is how much / how many times / how for-realz many of the suggestions people outline as "one tiny little thing it really wouldn't be any effort" is actually "one tiny little thing that adds immense burden to the people who actually run the site and you just cannot begin to understand despite how many times we try to explain it".

That being said, we do hear you.

Oh believe me, I understand - that's why I'm not really calling for coverage of the other material on the site proper, just more so a forum section where it could be discussed. Though I guess even that would be a lot more work really though, since not only would the section have to be set up, it'd have to be policed like any other section...

Though it should be mentioned that there have been times where you guys have been pretty indulgent about letting short-lived threads focusing on other Toriyama things survive for a little while, at least until their main purpose had been addressed, so maybe we don't need another section as badly as it seems.

At the end of the day though, it's you guys' site, and thus it's you guys who get to make any and all decisions about what to do, of course.

Yeah, as much as I would love to see a relatively small extension to cover just Toriyama's other works, and think it would make sense... the workload increase on these guys would probably be disproportionately huge. If something like that ever does happen, it's not going to be anytime soon. Not while there constant new material from Super and stuff, and a Wiki being built, and all that jazz.

"Distrubing" as in "a non-native speaker of English* paraphrasing a quotation from a well-known medium that is originally in English** so as not to commit any grave grammatical mistakes while contributing".
______________
* i.e. a Pole, i.e. me.
** Star Wars Episode IV New Hope - Darth Vader: "I find your lack of faith disturbing".
