Lack of International news on the front page done intentionally?

Post by sangofe » Thu Jun 28, 2018 5:12 am

I am not exactly sure when, but it would seem like Kazenshuu changed their policy about International news posts a few years ago and started posting much less news from outside Japan and North America.

If I am right is that because Dragon Ball Super was a thing and with that Kazenshuu had to prioritize? Or are there other reasons?

No matter the reason I think it is a bit disappointing because I loved reading posts about international releases and other news article related posts from around the globe.

I guess that with DBS being active in many countries right now, there would be too much to cover in all countries, with this country currently being at this volume of the manga and this arc of the TV show, and this other one being at this point, etc...

Even just in France, we basically have:

- The Dragon Ball Super episodes having covered the Zamasu arc on TV.

- The Dragon Ball Super first three arcs coming in Blu-ray and DVDs in August, with a regular edition and a collectors pack including an artbook, A4 pictures, an A2 poster, etc...

- Volume 4 of the Dragon Ball Super manga being released in July, with volume 5 announced as having the two covers Japan had as a single reversible cover to give us the choice.

- The Golden Box that includes the Blu-ray release of Battle of Gods, Resurrection 'F', and the exclusive French-dubbed HD versions of Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans and Episode of Bardack.

- The Dragon Ball Landmark and Dragon Ball Forever guidebooks being available, now that the latter has been recently released.

- Part 8 of the TV Anime Comics coming in September to continue the Majin Boo saga, with Anime Comics for all DBZ movies including Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F' being already available (we don't have the Anime Comics for the TV specials though).

And all of this is just for one country! Now imagine the staff having to keep up with the same amount of information for a whole bunch of countries all over the world! I don't know how they could keep up without losing their minds with all those releases probably constantly popping up everywhere now that Dragon Ball has entered a worldwide strong phase of activity with DBS.

I agree that it's interesting to see where each country is at when it comes to Dragon Ball releases, and what's recently becoming available for each of them, but it's probably extremely hard to keep up with.

The answer is never "they don't want to do something". It's always a matter of priority, availability, resources, etc.

We also always welcome tips and submissions - there is contact information right on the website.

As you all know, we do what we can when we can.

I tried submitting news several times during a period but eventually gave up on it because nothing got posted. Whereas before, I can’t say exactly how long ago, almost everything got posted. So i thought Kazenshuu changed policy.

Without speaking for Mike, the extreme pick-up in regular Dragon Ball news probably has something to do with it. The site also (thankfully) has a high-bar for verifying and posting information, so without permanent international staff to help cover and verify everything, it's not surprising it would drop off a bit in favor of increasingly rampant Japanese and North American news. (We do still get news on Dragon Ball's presence in other regions from time to time though.)

I referenced sources and translated articles just like before when they would be mentioned frequently. So I am sure it has to be Japan keeping the staff busy.
