I will when I can. Our power is out, so no wifi right now.
Thanks. :)

Its alright, I certainly had fun playing it. There aren't a huge amount of people on but it is only the first day so we will see. It lags at the "ready fight" but when you're actually playing it runs pretty decently. It isn't perfect and there is lag sometimes, but again I found it enjoyable.

Also, I found what those DP07 versions of the characters are. They're called "Extreme" versions so I suppose they are stronger. I got them by winning online battles. Not sure if you can in extreme survival, I'll check later. So far I got raditz and nappa "extreme".

UPDATE: Yes you can win the "Extreme" characters in single player via Extreme Survival.

Sweet, so we finally did get the update. Guess I need to find some time to pop that back in and get it, even though I never did finish unlocking everything that was already there. Maybe the new practice mode would help me get decent enough to actually pull that off.

I'm very thankful for the patch. Here's hoping we can receive another one later down the line with Botamo, Frost, and whatever that fifth Japanese update brings us.

Training Mode is much appreciated, and I'm still surprised it wasn't in the game from the get-go. It's nice to be able to sit back and watch the Assist Character animations uninterrupted without my opponent jumping all over the place.

Aside from that, I've mainly just been playing Extreme Survival mode and unlocking those "Extreme" versions of various characters. I've only been able to make it through 19 consecutive matches so far. I've heard stories of people making it past 100 matches, but I have a feeling I'd lose either 1.) a fight, or 2.) my patience before ever getting that far. I'll probably stop once I have all the characters. There are apparently new titles to unlock as well, but I'm not entirely sure how to get them and I don't know if I care enough to pursue them.

The new Assist Characters are great (although I notice they didn't bring any of the voice actors back in to record new dialogue). I wasn't expecting to get any international-exclusive Assists! I'm assuming Murasaki and Gohan/Goku will be in that fifth Japanese update, but hopefully there'll still a few more surprises left.

What are "Extreme" characters? How do you know when you fought one? How do they work?

They are versions of the already existing characters but they all have DP07, and are stronger than their normal counterparts. However it is still the same character as far as fighting styles go.
For example, take Nappa, one of two DP01 characters. "Extreme Nappa" is the exact same character but with DP07, better offense, and (I think) better defense. Also you can't have Nappa and "Extreme Nappa" on the same team.
The end result is that if you like nappa or krillin you don't feel like an underdog when your opponent picks God Goku or something.

The way to tell them apart is before the fight. Their portraits have this shiny pattern in the background, and again their DP is 7.

Y'know with the random-ass characters that have been appearing as strikers, I'm surprised we haven't seen the likes of Gyuu Maou, God, and Bra.

Judging from that picture, there also seems to be a new stage incoming based on the arena from the Universe 6 tournament.

Does Japan still not have Purple and Goku/Gohan strikers?

An unlock notification for them did not appear on the title screen with this latest patch. If they're in there, they're button-press codes.

Since it apparently has something to do with Extreme Butoden, I'll just leave these here. Although I don't have any idea of what exactly this is supposed to be.

Herms Twitter said if you own both games you can apparently do cross battles between them. Not sure if it's only ssj goku vs luffy or anything like that.

That sounds amazing. I never gave so much attention to this game, but this could change when I see how this cross game works.

It's not a new thing, they do this in Pokemon.

This is two straight up different franchise installments though. I can't think of any example of that ever happening.
