So 18 and 17 are somehow gonna be the FighterZ's Ice Climbers. I was disappointed with the idea that 17 won't be playable, but now looking this trailer I dig it. I'm imagining an Android themed team (Cell, 16 and 18) and I could possibly main it

I'm curious about the story, but excited to play it and see how ArcSys will handle it. I'm glad that DB games are now trying to be original. I hope this game keeps getting support and updates/upgrades for many years, so we can have that huge roster that everyone is hoping for

Okay, it's official. Characters on the right side of the selection screen are characters who were main antagonists when they first appeared in Z (Frieza, Cell, Boo, Android 18 & 16) while characters on the left were protagonists (SSJ Goku, SSJ Vegeta, Kami-Piccolo, Gohan, Krillin, SSJ Trunks). Which means the roster is going to have an equal number of 'villains' and 'heroes'.

Eh, I'd wait till we see more of the roster before making that call. Besides, the positioning of these characters might not even be final.

That new trailer was HNNNNNNNNG. I'm definitely going to pre-order the "Collectorz Edition". That Goku statue looks wild.

Highly recommend you check out that twitter user who has provided information on the new characters. They are already more unique than SSJ Goku, SSJ Trunks and SSJ2 Gohan.

Damn I want to play this game so bad. The new characters look amazing and I bet the "old ones" will have quite a few more tricks in the most recent version.

The #18 gimmick is great. In my opinion at the current juncture #18 and #17 aren't that different and making them into a single very unique character feels great. It doesn't dilute the cast with redundancy, it makes #18 a very enticing character to play.
I was afraid that having #17 randomly pop up would mess the immersion - since he's not in the the game -, I take that back. This approach positively changed my opinion.

Can't wait for the tournament in a couple of days.

Intros have been updated. As the camera zooms out, you see the other two fighters next to the 'leader'. Krillin's intro is goofy and comical. Can't wait to see his intro while Cell and Frieza are besides him.

so from what i understand story mode will revolve around android 16 or something?

Also i hope we get a lot of chars but from what i'm reading here people think we're only going to get 20 and some dlc? That would be a major let down, but i understand this is a new system and new engine and everything has to come in time. I'm excited by online 3 on 3 fights with 6 players, i wonder if you can do this offline as well with 5 friends?

Hopefully we get in game transformations and not just ssj goku ssj red goku or ssj blue goku in different chars.

My hope is we get this roster if it's ONLY 20-25 chars

You clearly don't seem to be well informed about the technique ArcSYS is using for developing characters in Guilty Gear Xrd and FighterZ.

While the characters are 3D models, the procedure they're using to give them this pseudo-sprite style is time consuming and difficult. It quite unlikely that we'll get transformations unless the transformation merely changes the color of the character (i.e. Golden Frieza).

This is why they've stated that alternate costumes ALONE is very difficult and time consuming.

Just registered and singed up for a chance to get into the private beta. Fingers crossed I get in. :)

Oh, and new trailer looks awesome. Android 17 and 18's combo attacks look gorgeous.

Story cutscene models are different from the fighting models, Story cutscene models take less work that's why we see Bulma and Krillin in his RoF outfit.
