WOuldn't be a summon, just a given. Plus, with the changes to training, getting a level one up high isn't that annoying unless you have shit luck.

It's mostly annoying to me thanks to the soul drops taking forever to get. Yes there's guide but the NRG is a system I never care for in games.

Update: Soon we're getting Bonus Missions for specific soul colours like we have for XP and Zeni

Its crazy how this game gives options to advance without paying a dime. Most free to play ones I've experienced, this and Guild Wars 2 excluded, stone wall you to a crawl you have no way of getting around without forking out some cash.

Yeah, I don't actually think there's a way to really advance that much paying aside from using crystals to get more energy faster or more chances at getting a new character (But really, every new summon usually brings event quests that get you plenty of crystals). You can't buy zeni or medals which are used to buy some of the grindy stuff and new costumes.
Maybe companies are finally learning?

Or they're just lulling us into a false sense of security before they really get in there!

I don't think the matchmaking system actively tries to pit you against opponents near to your level, but apparently, your characters have some scale up to compensate for a large PL gap though I've never noticed a difference.

It would be god damn useful if I got a SP RED Cell to raise in order to complete the new Scout Battle, but it seems that I might have to use the EX YELLOW Cell (such a waste of souls and training items)

I'm loving the story so far even if sometimes it seems to go kinda slow. The fake Frieza part is the thing that interest me the most. Frost may finally be useful to the story as a character instead of being just a weaker, vanilla Frieza (it can also be Cooler but let me dream).

Companies are definetly learning. Both this game and Fire Emblem Heroes are really F2P friendly (the later more than the former, but it has also been out for more than a year and a half and the fanbase is way more exigent that the DB one).

Not really. Yeah, SP character can be good, but EX characters can be really effective, especially when you're in a mission that having a whole team of type advantages would be useful. Hell, I did most of the story with Hero Frieza as my only green and he kicked some ass

I can attest to this, EX Gero and Goku have both proven themselves good YLW and BLU characters respectively.

I was using some EX at the very start, especially Raditz, but right now the only EX i sometimes use is EX 18.
She is really good unit and have great synergy with SP 18 and Pan.
But currently i mostly use her as bench to boost my SP 18 and SP Pan since SP #17 is still better tank than EX 18 and has insane blast damage.
Not to mention being MUST HAVE against overpowered GRE units (Bardock and Piccolo)

I can attest to this, EX Gero and Goku have both proven themselves good YLW and BLU characters respectively.

Oh I not said in the sense that I despise every non SP char

And yes that I have plently of high leved YLW chars and EX Cell would be another add to that list.

I was about to Super Saiyajin Rage Quit Trunks because I had saved so many Crystals for SSJ2 Purple Gohan and what did I get? SSJ "Blue" Gokuu. Twice. At least then Red Perfect Cell came from a Daily, that was nice and after beating all new Story Quests I had enough Crystals for one desperate final Multi Pull. Purple Gohan. YES! And good thing I was saving all those purple Souls. Now I just need more Zeni to finish him. Leveling him with Bells is super easy.

You should't complain about the new SSJ Goku, he's now the best BLU Element character in the game and SSJ2 Gohan though a fan favorite in most games is still behind this Goku, Cell and Bardock stats wise.

He's very useful for the reasons I listed above, but I also liked EX Master Roshi, it was a pain in the ass to beat on PvP.
