Stumbled across this on YouTube. Guy analyzes Head Cha-La Head-Cha-La and it's influences on anime openings in general. Possibly this should be placed in the fanworks section, but I think it works here too.

One interesting comment the author made is how animators wouldn't bother with flying aesthetics if it weren't necessary to represent Dragon Ball Z. That's so Toriyama-like in the sense they'd start drawing impressively, only finding regret later, having to maintain that particular consistency in betrayal of simplicity. It's a neat tidbit that Cha La Head Cha La may have inspired a trend of openings revolving around an entire cast, too.
