Where can I buy the entire (or most) of the Buu saga Japanese BGM?

Post by Jord » Mon Jan 23, 2017 3:20 pm

I really like the Buu Saga's bgm with it's various arrangements of WE GOTTA POWER and Boku wa tenchi datta. My favorite DB music piece has to be the Genki Dama theme which also took place in the Buu saga. With that being said I would like to buy these tracks legally. If possible I would like all the DBZ BGM on CD.

The most logical purchase seems to be the Dragon Ball Z BGM Collection but to me it seems like it's missing a lot of tracks like the Genki Dama theme. Furthermore, it seems 'clutttered' with karaoke versions and TV size edits of the opening/edits of the TV show and movie songs, of which I already own the full versions. So are there any more, or better collections available? I would prefer a physical release.

That's pretty much your only bet. There was the previous five-disc Daizenshuu set, but while I haven't actually compared the two sets track-for-track in a while, I have to imagine the three-disc BGM Collection is going to be a better bang for your buck, and far easier to track down.

That was the last release of BGM for the series, too, so there's been nothing in the meantime we can otherwise recommend.

There SHOULD be a complete BGM set, but I don't know why Nihon-Columbia and Toei won't commit to it. Was it because of how badly the complete Sailor Moon BGM set almost 20 years ago sold?

Thanks for the replies, even if they're kinds disappointing. Seeing as how Toei loves to make money of its properties it's strange that some of the BGM hasn't been properly released. You would think they'd at least sell it on Itunes or Amazon, especially when it's available online at less legit places.

I imagine it would be really hard to find. However, some Buu arc BGMs are on Mugiwalarge's YouTube channel. I'd suggest you check his channel out, because IMO he's the unsung hero of the Dragon Ball community because he's the only person to upload a sufficient release of Kikuchi's BGMs.
