Opinions on Pieces of Music - V5!

Post by Bansho64 » Tue Oct 10, 2017 12:48 pm

Here's a fifth version of this thread. The fourth one hadn't had a post in months, so I made a new one.

Rules are the same: give your review/opinion on the Dragon Ball music piece shared by the above poster, then link to a Dragon Ball music piece of your own for the next poster to give their review/opinion on.

To start,
Love Light (Bardock Special). This is an English version of the ending song from the Bardock special, "Hikari No Tabi", that was done back in the 90s.

Beatiful! Even though parts of the music and the instruments are different the main melody is still the same. The feels and the singing is on par with the original in my book, with the bonus that in this version i can understand what they sing. Its a shame that the english phillipine version was never completed, when you think about how much effort they put into it.

Here is my link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vDUtq0 ... vDUtq0Apgc) The first piece in this Video is meant:

M 108: Scramble, a fighting variation of General Blues theme.

Oh my God this brings back so much memories, the battle music from DB always seemed much more varied than DBZ, this one sounds like it's fitting for a old spy movie (I think the track is from the red ribbon army, also it's very surprising hearing a french horn in a track from Kikuchi, I thought he didn't used them at all!

Next Up: All Out Battle!

Pretty cool Dragon Ball Super song, pretty suspensful and intense even through i like more the Kikuchi music for Dragon Ball. But i can tolerate Suitomos score for Super and the new Movies, since they are atleast new music pieces for new Dragon Ball stuff compared to Buu arc Kai, where its just a replacement score thats steals the original Soundtrack that belongs there, just like it was done with the Ocean & pre Orange Brick Funi Dubs. I like this Piece of Suitomo quite a lot, the guitar and the beat are nice too.

Next One: M 523 (?) Son Goku's Redemption Day,

Note: This BGM is a variation from the piece were Goku drinks the Super Devine Water (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZTxxI7bxYY) and also from the earthern Gods theme (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LlJjnA ... I&index=76)

An awesome piece, with an intense old school "monster movie" vibe to it. Too bad it was used so little.

Creates a good sense of tension. I like the ascending and descending string melodies in it.

Next up: Dragonball Super - Power of Sisterly Saiyans (HQ Recreation)

It feels very fitting for Kale and Caulifla and also very triumphant sounding, Sumitomo is nailing it with these new tracks lately. Watching the ToP arc and then watching the U6 dub is like night and day in terms of the music. Speaking of new ToP music, this next one's my favorite

Next: Hit vs Dyspo Theme (and Kefla's theme too I guess?)
