Favorite GT BGM?

Post by DestructoDisc » Wed Jul 04, 2018 10:10 am

My favorite has to be this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGlaLyNR0yQ

It's so catchy relaxing and for some reason even sad at the same time. It's just so good. I wish they played it more often. I think they only played it in the Hero's Legacy movie when Grandma Pan trains Goku Jr.

Mine would honestly be the Title Card theme. I know it’s pretty short, but it’s kinda catchy and it always just pops into my head at random times. Playing in every episode might have something to do with it!

If i have to pick just one i guess it will be this one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIonz3mD7WU

When it plays, it's always emotional:
-Android 18 cries over Krillin's death
-Pan is dying in hospital
-Trunks leaves Bulma and goes to help Vegeta
-Satan misses Buu and think about giving up on fighting
"I will concede that your feelings are worthy of the mightiest of Saiyans. However, there is more to my power than just this. Before you die, I will show it to you. This is the difference in power, between the primitive Saiyans and the evolved Tsufruians." ~Baby Vegeta

I love the whole GT soundtrack but if I had to choose a particular favourite track, it would be this one :

I absolutely love that one for the same reasons you have mentioned and that's actually my 2nd favorite BGM from Dragon Ball GT, which had a great soundtrack in general indeed, but my top favorite is still the Universal Spirit Bomb BGM (it can be heard while Goku is gathering energy to defeat Omega Shenron during episode 63):

Easily the recap music. I like it better than any of the other recap themes!

God, hard choice...

I think it might be this one: "'Girls' Don't Have Tails!? ~ Goku And Bulma 2"

Though honestly, depending on my mood, it could really be anything, and even now, I could name tons of close ones. Dragon Ball's Final Fantasy is a classic, the One Last Reunion(Also known as "Farewell Soundtrack") is really great too... As others have brought up, the prologue is amazing...

Honestly, GT's BGM is just really amazing. I often listen to the Saikyou E No Michi(AKA: Path To Ultimate Strength, AKA: Path To Power) soundtrack, because it's all just really great stuff.
The point of Dragon Ball is to enjoy it. Never lose sight of that.

Wow, that is a great arrangement. I like how it sound like GT's soundtrack but with a twist.

I like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfyWR5b ... RZsf7s0sAe a lot. The arrangement here is interesting in how they mix up the flute playing the main part with the steel drums on the bridge part. It's unexpected and surprises the listener.

Yeah. The rearrangements of the openings and endings used throughout the score are really great. That one of DAN DAN Kokoro Hikarete'ku you linked is a really fun one, though as far as rearrangements of Dan Dan go, the one used when Goku transforms into Super Saiyan 4 is one of my favourites: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNcz65oyCLk (That video has a couple of small parts where someone talks over the music. If you'd like it isolated, there is this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeZkPrhsXts, but it's edited to loop and fade to stretch it out to 3 and a half minutes, and the quality isn't so good...)

Another great arrangement of Dan Dan which is also related to Super Saiyan 4 is this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFdEoZUZ4nw
The point of Dragon Ball is to enjoy it. Never lose sight of that.

Having to pick just one track is hard, because the overall score for GT is sensational.

I feel this track wonderfully encompasses the brilliantly comforting and melancholic nature of GT, especially as the show -- along Dragon Ball's grand narrative -- was coming to its grand conclusion.

Mine would be that bouncy, string based instrumental of Hitori Ja Nai. It sounds upbeat and hopeful, but at the same time kind of melancholic. This undercurrent of sadness and melancholy seems to be a recurring element in GT's score going by some of the comments here, which makes sense given what Lord Beerus said about GT being the end of the Dragon Ball story.

But I also like this one quite a lot! The mopey instrumentals are funny
