Dragon Ball Super: Broly Soundtrack Predictions

Post by supersaiyandoctor » Fri Jul 13, 2018 5:06 am

Seeing that Sumitomo is back for the film, do you think any music from the series will appear?

I noticed his soundtracks for the last two movies were very subtle in comparison to Super. The only piece of music I can recall that transitioned to the Super soundtrack was the music when Shenron appears.

Do you think Broly will have a good soundtrack?

I'd like to see what leitmotif he may come up with for Broly. The original one Kikuchi composed and utilized across all three of the Broly film scores was one of the more memorable movie antagonist themes. I wouldn't mind even hearing it referenced in Sumitomo's work, as unlikely as that is (both because he doesn't really use Kikuchi's old motifs nor will the character be exactly the same).

I just hope its more in line with his work on Super than the last two movies.

Wonder if they will add any songs as well. Like how 'F' had that Freeza song.

You mean we're not getting Disturbed and Dream Theater tracks for this one :(

My reaction is a joke, but I'll be completely honest, I think the movies and TV specials that have the licensed music are among my favorites, partially for that reason. Sumitomo did an increasingly better job as Super went on so hopefully this will be a culmination of his best work so far.

Almost definitely will be, easy money for them, promote a band/group sell CDs etc.

Ha! Honestly for old time's sake would love it if FUNi played Pantera in the film, or at the very least have one of the characters say something like "Man Broly's skin sure is cold" I would absolutely take 10,000 pages of people complaining if we got a line like that!

Agreed that Sumitomo got increasingly better over time.

I actually love the U.S soundtracks for the old movies, mostly Coolers Revenge and Broly as well as the two specials. Lord Slug had some good tracks too.

BoG had "Hero" by Flow play when SS Goku vs Beerus started.

"F" had one insert song yeah but an idol band did the ending theme for it.

So my friend and i think that since Toei loves pandering to the west so much, the insert song will more than likely be a rock song. I hope we hear some of it in the 3rd trailer.
I called it that Gogeta, Bardock, and something Broly related would be in the movie before it was even announced that it was a Broly movie. 8)

The soundtrack is going to be up for sale on December 12 which is two days before the movie comes out in Japan.

when Heroes promotional anime came out revealing that his composer is Yuya Moori, I know that is just a promotional series but I thought Sumitomo was done, at first point I thought that Kikuchi's soundtrack would be used for the movie, but yeah Sumitomo is still there, well I hope he makes a theme for the characters just like Kikuchi did and as Sumitomo himself did in BoG and RoF, and yeah I also hope that the full soundtrack of the movie gets released, they said I think that will have 32 or 35 musics, but I think 32/35 tracks aren't enough for a movie that will have almost 2 hours, BoG had less duration and the tracks made for it are 51, if just 32/35 tracks were confirmed so this means that the movie will have a lot of silent moments, just as the original version of Tree of Might, because Sumitomo's soundstracks lenghts always are just from 1 to 4 minutes.
I simply wouldn't want to imagine my life without Dragon Ball, thank you Akira Toriyama (1955-2024), you are now immortal.
