Thanks! We actually did put up a Demon Guide last Halloween as part of the mini guide section, which covers most of what the podcast went over. I was wanting to update it for this Halloween, but couldn't get things worked out with Hujio.

When these types of episodes are packed with information from and outside of the DB, I find them especially enjoyable. Relating the topics to real world examples of it and in other media were quite interesting. I really enjoyed this episode, can't wait till another like it.

With Herms' mic now sounding the way it is I hope he's on even more episodes now. Also, is this the show you were mentioning Herms?

P.S. Did you guys look into the background of Slug's henchmen or did I just miss that part of the podcast?

To be honest, I've never understood why demonic Nameks were danced around as much as they were as opposed to doing a straight retcon. For one the dub's explanation of Slug as an evil renegade super-powered Namek is easier to wrap one's head around. I guess Piccolo's spawning non-Namekians is an issue, though. That Makyo is a planet (Haven't seen Garlic Jr. in Japanese yet) was odd too as if I recall, it looked as if it was going to collide with the earth; why would you ram your homeworld into another planet?

Otherwise, another great thoroughly-researched podcast! Halloween appropriate indeed.

Things do seem to get... heavy with these sorts of topics. Sort of have to brace myself whenever Herms leads a topic, it's everywhere.

Interesting stuff. The part about Dabura's origins was very enlightening, makes me wish they did more with that in the show.

I always wondered why Piccolo Daimaoh spawned various monsters rather than more typical Namekians. Was there ever an explanation for this?

I'm behind here, but listening to this one now. Great job guys, this is a very compelling in-universe discussion. It dissects something that has some meat, but isn't focused on, supported with out-of-universe facts.

Regarding Chrono Trigger, the DS re-release added an interesting twist to what you touched upon (I'm listening to that part now, so if you mention this I apologize). While keeping the name of Magus, they also refer to him by the title of "Fiendlord," and refer to the Demons/Mystics as "Fiends." They were seemingly going for a closer translation to the original, while keeping the magical aspect the first translation had touched on for familiarity's sake.
