I can't believe there is a Galactic Police Force in Dragonball.

I've seen the "Meh typical Toriyama" comments around here and other forums, but I thought this chapter had a lot of heart! The old man's sorrow is palpable, and the interactions between him and Jaco were warm and very funny in places. I thought Toriyama's drawings of the island in particular were really great, and the art felt like he was enjoying himself. That image of Jaco climbing out of the sea was especially iconic looking. Plus you get a cool monster shark 8)

In my defense as a Toriyama fanboy who may just be gushing and ready to love anything new, I was not very impressed with Kintoki. It was alright, but definitely felt more like Toriyama going through the motions.

I have high hopes for this series. I do think that the alien Jaco is tracking is young Goku. It will be interesting to see if this is true, and why he does not end up killing him or all of humanity!

Kanzenshuu: "Join us in the speculation, guys! Could Jaco The Galactic Patrolman possibly be connected to DragonBall?"

One Day Later...

Shueisha: "YES. Now shut up."

The tradition of news breaking almost immediately after the podcast is uploaded continues. :P

Still a very insightful episode, though. Thanks, guys!

Damn. Kanzenshuu should use this to it's advantage.

Kanzenshuu: "Join us as we speculate when Funi will announce the Dragon Ball Boxes, Dragon Box the movies, and Dragon Box GT sets"

The old man's research lab looked like a capsule corp building. Not to mention the time machine reference. Maybe the old man was the one who helped start the research that Bulma used to build the time machine for Trunks

Not really. I mean, yes it kinda resembles the Capsule Corp building, but to be fair, Toriyama draws dome shaped buildings all over the place in Dragon Ball. They are not just exclusive to Bluma's family.

Does Toriyama use those dome shaped houses in any of his other manga?
