Episode #0394! VegettoEX discusses the process of adapting a name from "Dragon Ball" in Japanese to our alphabet and have it still make sense, sound the same, and do something to acknowledge or bring out its pun source. Some names are easy, some are even deceptively simple, but others stump us a bit to this day. Tune in for a bit of a behind-the-scenes lesson and learn a bit about some of the most difficult name spellings to adapt!

Man, it`s been a long time since we`ve had the "Email" jingle on the show xD
Great episode, as always! I hope you can get back on a weekly schedual, because I love hearing your thoughts on the things that are going on in the DB world!

I loved this episode, some of the name puns are just amazing and it really goes to show how much fun Akira put into his work. On my own stories and youtube videos I love chucking in the odd pun here and there just to spice things up. One odd translation in the DBZ LSW card game is 'LOST', which is basically the 'censored' version of the word die. Unfortunately it was often used incorrectly in terms of grammar. For example, "Don't lost!" (instead of Don't Die!). I'm sure there are many videogame examples as well, such as Gotenks' "Big Tree Cannon" (not Victory Cannon)

How does Dabra compare to the official lyrics in Japanese an if it matches shouldn't the pronunciation be like the dabra in Kadabra?
Re: Episode #0394 (31 January 2016)
'Abracadabra' is a magical incantation, not a song.

I'm aware, but if it's all inspired from the Disney song, that's why I asked it that way.
