The music placement is vastly different than that in the Japanese version.
Does that mean it's better? That clip sounded like it had far more breathing room. Nice bits of silence before any tracks kicked in.

Hopefully more details arise soon.

I sent my cousin episode 99 for Japan airing. He's going to compare. Info should be available in 2 days due time zone differences

I describe it as "the most confusing anime Kuu-Zen-Zetsu-Go" (kuuzenzetsugo means "of all time").
How am I gonna explain to this to anyone else? This whole thing's a big mess. Biggest mess of all messes. Now, I understand why Funimation didn't want to confirm anything else. They don't know what the Hell is going on, either.
As funny as that sounds, that actually does make sense. In hindsight, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the exact reason FUNimation has been so back-and-forth about the Kai-Buu arc.

Man oh man......I don't envy the Kanzenshuu mods. I love them for the work they put it, but they're gonna have a hell of a time chronicling the production of this show.
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

I wonder if Yanami Jouji had to create new narration for the Japanese cut?

And Nozawa must have re-recorded NEPs.

Well, we know the Japanese cast did record the entire International Version. Why? Who knows.
Sonic Team did the same thing with Season 3 of Sonic X. There was even less reason there, however.

The edited version presumably just takes out all the remaining filler scenes. I would imagine some new narration from Yanami and Nozawa would've been recorded, though.

According to this post on a Korean forum, the recap at the beginning of the first episode is longer and shows more scenes from the Saiyan arc through the Cell arc.

Different closing and opening
Dark instead of Green tint
16:9 everywhere
Different placement
A Kai version of Kai
Japan is the replacement score
Perhaps two Japanese versions

Ok, I just ran this through Google Translate. Amidst the gibberish of words that make no sense I managed to discern Burst Limit. Isn't that a game?

Man oh man Toai fucked up really bad right here. Why did they make two versions of Kai??

Wait a minute why are they using the burst limit game opening for the opening of the international version of Kai?

Burst Limit is a DBZ game that came out like 6 years ago I think.

One of the posts points out that the opening song shares the same name with the theme song for Burst Limit. They're different, though.

My excitement is no longer at the max (to slightly reword a line of Kuu Zen Zetsu Go). Don't know if I can support this version when FUNimation releases it. At this point I only want to buy it for the improved English cast. The lack of 4:3 (as far as we now), being longer (which defeats the purpose of Kai) and no chance of ever getting a dub of Kuu Zen Zetsu Go is a bummer as well. Hate to say it, but this international version just sounds awful. I'm tempted to just make a custom cut with the Dragon Boxes as the video source when this is out.

The first few episodes of the Japanese version were way too condensed and suffered from sloppy edits and almost wall-to-wall music, so I'd choose something edited more carefully over rushed and sloppy stuff even if the latter is filler free.

While that does suck a bit, I'm not going to definitively say that it sucks until I hear this "Fight It Out" song. Who knows, maybe it's better. Now I'm really curious to hear this song......and as Kei clarified, it's not the same as the Burst Limit theme.

I won't disagree with you there. Just don't like the idea of things been even more inconsistent than the first time and the 69 episode count (the other arcs were 50-ish and were paced just fine). Doesn't seem like enough got cut out overall. Which was Kai's initial goal originally.

Hopefully Fight it out is a solid song at least.

Ack, that too! Not only did some poor bastard have to edit these additional forty-eight episodes, but the voice actors had to contribute, too!!

Perhaps? How can there not be when one version moves slower than the other? There's more scenes.
