I'm not sure why you would think that. When Family guy or rick and Morty or any of the other shows only has one showing, people don't switch their schedules and the numbers end up combined. You're lucky to get 30% of your audience to switch to the new time slot. Especially with the different times lots and demos they are targeting.

simtek34 wrote:The way I would think Toonami would work out is to move earlier and move around the schedule slightly like this

8:00 Samuari Jack
8:30 Dragon Ball Z Kai
9:00 Dragon Ball Super
9:30 Naruto Shippuden
10:00 Hunter X Hunter
10:30 Attack on Titan
11:00 Gundam Unicorn
11:30 Tokyo Ghoul
12:00 Ghost in the Shell

And while they are at it, add more shows and get rid of others. I really want My Hero Academia to come to Toonami! And bring Back Jojo and One Piece
My Perfect Schedule:
8 Dragon Ball Super
8:30 Kai
9: Hunter X Hunter
9:30 My Hero
10 Naruto Shippuden
10:30 Samurai Jack
11:00 Attack on Titan
11:30 Tokyo Ghoul
12:00 YuYuHakusho HD

JoJo needs to stay gone One Piece should come back and replace Ghoul when finished. I think having One Piece take the fall for a struggling block was very poor decision making on AS part.

Any show I want? Ooh! So now it would be...

8:00 Dragon Ball Super
8:30 Dragon Ball Z Kai
9:00 My Hero Academia
9:30 One Piece
10:00 Naruto Shippuden
10:30 Huter X Hunter
11:00 Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
11:30 Tokyo Ghoul
12:00 ?? ?? IDK

I don't understand this sentiment? Why would they replace their 1st/2nd highest performing show?

Because it only pulls 850K while Family Guy does...let me check 1240K viewers. Or at least put Jack at the end of the block and not at the beginning where it kills the blocks momentum. If Super was where Samurai Jack is it would pull 1 million again.

Look I dont hate Samurai Jack, it was epic it had a good run but now its just reruns. How are reruns going to keep a block afloat. I know there's irony in that Family Guy are repeats but my point stands in that it still does much better.

Dude(ette). I mean the overall ratings of the entire thing. Super went from 1 million in the previous weeks to 800K when Samurai Jack went into reruns. This are not normal or good or aceptable ratings and if something is not done soon Toonami could be in Jeopardy.

Super has been doing sub millions pretty often even while Jack was current. Jack survived on its own merits you're implying Super can't even when Buu Kai is often beating it in ratings. The bigger issue is that Super CANT run as the headliner apparently.

I'm not sure why you aren't critizing Super for not bringing in more rating on its own merits.

Because I already know it needs help to be stable. As beloved as Dragon Ball is it needs a bigger lead to thrive. I apologize in that you are indeed right, Premiere Jack did 1.3 million and Super did 900K, you are right in that part I admit it. But Family Guy has like much more ratings and Dragon Ball Super needs it to thrive.

There! I admitted that...
-Super cant do it on its own
-Samurai Jack isnt at fault.

Wow they are in big trouble, Ok Toonami time to do something and i don't think the solution is as easy as replace Jack with Family Guy. Lupin starts soon but i fully expect an announcement about a reduced schedule when that starts. Unless we get what needs to happen which is a drastic time movement.

What about the ratings for the 7pm airings of Super? I could see that cutting into the viewership for the later Toonami showing.

I appreciate the effort, but I'm really not sure why they thought Lupin III Part 4 would be a good fit for the block, even at 2AM. Granted it was nearly 15 years ago now, but Part II didn't exactly do super well for them back when they tried airing that on the network in 2003.

I don't think Toonami or anime as a whole are in trouble but rather the shows they're showing and here's why.

Samurai Jack : They're just showing reruns so chances are whoever was interested in the show before already saw them and has no reason to watch them again.

Dragon Ball Super : Still in the movie retellings and the part that most don't like. Instead they should've just started with the Champa arc.

Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters : People can buy it now and it's just a recut of the original that everyone has seen.

Attack on Titan : Great show but only has 3 more episodes before it goes into reruns (assuming it's not replaced).

Tokyo Ghoul : All the episodes have been released.

Hunter X Hunter & Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn : Great shows and choices cause it's the only way to watch them dubbed.

Naruto: Shippuden : They're showing 7 year old episodes that everyone has seen. What they should do is have Viz dub Boruto and have it exclusive like Hunter X Hunter.

Ghost in the Shell : Another old show.

Apart from Hunter X Hunter and Gundam, they don't have anything exclusive that'll force people to pick them over doing other things so unless they get more shows like that, chances are they're not going to be around for much longer if the ratings keep going down.

One thing they should do is bring back One Piece but start at the new world episodes.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

You feel the same way as me huh that Toonami is in trouble? If they can get through 5 more weeks of ROF retelling hopefully the ratings for super will jump up big time. I feel like by the time the Hit fight comes they should be able to pull close to 2mil
