Hey, just so everyone knows, Part 1 of TFC finally got lowered in price by a good $24 on Amazon, so now it matches Best Buy! Still not seeing Part 2's listing, or One Piece Film Gold or Heart of Gold, but I' imagining those'll be on there within a few days. It's taking forever though, for some reason I can't fathom.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

Back to Amazon for me then. I'm going to stop bouncing between sites once they have Part 2 and the One Piece stuff up.

It's occured to me that most of the people that dislike Sumitomo's music are more accustomed to Kikuchi, Faulconer, etc. and thus feel that Sumitomo doesn't suit Dragon Ball. While I, as someone who didn't pay much attention to the soundtrack in Nicktoons' Kai run, feel that Sumitomo works incredibly well for DB, especially the modern content. Even the placement is good.

Well, I've made this evident before, but in short, I love Sumitomo's soundtrack. He's my favorite composer for the anime hands down.

Well, I don't think it has anything to do with Kai. I myself grew up with that same Kai run on Nicktoons and I don't like Sumitomo. Everyone just has their own tastes. I've seen fans of Faulconer, Kikuchi, Menza, Tokunaga, and Yamamoto that like Sumitomo.

It's not any of that at all.
Here's the thing, even though people love the Kikuchi score for Z, most people were fine with Yamamoto's Kai score before he got fired, to the point where people have launched fan projects to reedit the English dub, & Japanese, I believe, to the music placements from the Japanese airing of the show for the rest of the episodes that had the music replacements & were replaced after the first 4-5 part sets were released.
People have a problem with Sumitomo's score because it feels off for the series & they compare it to the original Z score because that felt more organic to the scenes. The music feels unnatural for Kai because it sounds jarring when you have a more subdued & serious scene being contrasted with a too upbeat score that sounds like generic discount Disco music. Music does a lot for a scene, but when it doesn't fit, it can just be bad for someone's enjoyment of the scene. I don't think Sumitomo's a bad composer from what he's done in Super, but the music feels rushed & unfitting half the time when it shouldn't.

I think it's overall well done. there are some odd choices here and there but it's nowhere near as bad as it's made out to be.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Ahh. Still though you Americans are extremely lucky we gotta pay pretty much double to get this thing imported and MangaUK said they had no plans to release it  but even then it would cost as much.

That's just because the Canadian dollar is worth less than the US dollar right now. It actually costs about the same, despite the Canadian version having a larger number.

Well, I mean that IS the list price of the set. Even here in America, the list price is roughly the same on this side of the boarder. My question is where's the Ocean dub for you guys? Brian Drummond told Geekdom that they recorded their version a few years ago or so, yet it hasn't been released. You'd think they'd, at least, include it as an alternate audio track like the Akira Blu-Ray from FUNi & I think their rerelease of Escaflowne.
Then again, outside of torrenting sites & YouTube clips, the Ocean dub has never been released anywhere officially. Even in the UK, they get the FUNi dub. Is it cheaper just to import the tracks from FUNimation or something? Because that's weird. Maybe they don't see the point since the US dub & actors are probably the best known to many at this point, seeing as the Internet has a lot of clips.

Any confirmation if the Final Chapter Blu-rays will also be Region A and B like the earlier part and season discs of Kai?

On the FUNimation site, it only says Region A, so...we'll have to wait & see if that's all.
Given that the B region covers the UK, Australia, & New Zealand, & FUNimation has aways distributed their Dragon Ball dubs to Australia & New Zealand, it could seem likely, but again, we'll have to wait & see.

I'd say it is highly unlikely since both part 1 & 2 say A on the website, plus FUNi did end up locking BoG and "F" too despite Aus releasing it soon thereafter.

Anyway, after Buu Kai is released I probably won't buy Super until the U6 arc, I never predicted Kai would release so quick and was on the fence about buying the retellings anyway.
