All of the Kai releases
I've heard that the musical scores on Kai releases changed about between composers a lot, could somebody give me a run down on all the different versions there are/which is which.

You may wish to read our retrospective about Kenji Yamamoto here on our website.Krillin1994 wrote:I've heard that the musical scores on Kai releases changed about between composers a lot, could somebody give me a run down on all the different versions there are/which is which.
Long story short, the Japanese TV broadcast of Kai got to episode 92, the Blu-rays to 76, and the DVDs to 72 with the Yamamoto score.
The American home release got from "Part 1" to "Part 4" with the Yamamoto score.
All subsequent re-releases use recycled music from Shunsuke Kikuchi's original Dragon Ball Z musical score.

Thank you for this information

Didn't the Japanese TV broadcast of Kai get to episode 95 with Yamamoto? Or am I mistaken about this?VegettoEX wrote: Long story short, the Japanese TV broadcast of Kai got to episode 92, the Blu-rays to 76, and the DVDs to 72 with the Yamamoto score.

Nope, you're right. It was 95. 96 and 97 were Kikuchi, and then the last episode never aired.thaman91 wrote:Didn't the Japanese TV broadcast of Kai get to episode 95 with Yamamoto? Or am I mistaken about this?

Yeah, I have no idea how I missed that far and typed 92. My bad! It's absolutely 95.

Also, Sumitomo composed the OST for Buu Kai (99 - 159).
