Anyone think Funimation announces Buu Kai Today at SDCC

Post by rs_chaosmaster » Thu Jul 21, 2016 1:38 am

This seems like a logical decision we already know it is complete this would be the best place to announce the license and release of Kai the Buu Saga as it will get the most publicity. It is known Funimation has an Industry panel tonight between 10-11pm EST one can only hope Dragon Ball Z Kai Buu Saga and/or Super makes an appearance.

FUNimation usually announces big stuff like this at Otakon. So that's probably when Buu Kai or Super, whichever one FUNi announces, will be announced.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

I feel like they might get shat on if they did, to be honest. At this point, I think they should just quietly release Boo Kai. Just put the trailer up on their website or something, or list it as "coming soon" wherever they need to. Because if they hype up a big announcement about a release that the fans have been waiting for... and it's not Super -- the series that's been going on a year in Japan already -- I think that they'd get shat on. At this point, how many people really care about Boo Kai? It's been so long that it's ridiculous. Kind of like how they redubbed and quietly released DB movie 1 -- can you imagine if after the Z Dragon Boxes started coming out they started hyping up a big Dragon Ball release that's been a long time in the making... and rolled out the Curse of the Blood Rubies movie? They'd get booed off stage.

I think they almost have to make the announcement of Kai 2.0/Buu Kai at SDCC. I mean, Kai 1.0 is set to end in December this year, if there was any perfect time to give fans the heads up on Kai 2.0/Buu Kai, it would definitely have to be as SDCC. I mean, if not then, then when?

Just start advertising it before the current Kai run finishes. I never needed to go to a convention for "Z-Day" to rock my socks off as a kid. Did they do a big reveal for every release they've ever done? Meaning, did they reveal Dragon Box Z 2-7 at conventions too? With that, I think they can just quietly sell it. Advertise it on commercials. Because hyping up something that should've been out of the gate a long, long time ago when there's plenty of new stuff for them to dig into would be a kick in the nuts. Especially with all of these false starts where across -- whoops -- "accidentally" leak that they've been doing voices for Boo Kai. That happened several times and now it's like "shit or get off the pot." If Super hadn't come out, I'd say to do the big reveal. But since there is more pressing business to tend to than a recut version of arguably the least popular arc in the story (isn't that why it didn't get "Kaied" up in the first place), I'd say just do it quietly.

On a side note: imagine Toei gives FUNimation the original crappy animation instead of their DVD reanimation? They'd totally be the dicks to do that lol
