Damn, Part 2 is already out?? Here in Australia we're still waiting for Madman to release Part 1 and that ain't happening until early June. If region lock wasn't a thing I would've bought the Blu-rays straight off of Amazon US because I'm just that impatient.

Man, Kai TFC's remastering is so odd. I've already been aware of some color artifacts that others have pointed out caused by careless color correction, but there are times where colors will bleed over areas they shouldn't:

In the Kai shot, Vegeta's skin is overlapping his shirt, whereas in Z the shirt's completely blue.

It's like they're editing each color individually, but they aren't selecting it properly, so the colors around the edges are being affected as well. It's so easy to avoid doing this. I also am completely confused why it seems that they color corrected each scene individually instead of just getting the colors right for an entire episode all at once. It was so much unnecessary work, and it only hurts the product by making the colors inconsistent throughout each episode.

That's there in both images. It's just fractionally harder to see due to the poorer dark detail of the Dragon Box.

In the Kai shot, it's skin colored, but in the Dragon Box footage, it looks blue like the rest of his shirt (though in that area it's the lighter shade of blue from the non-shaded areas of his shirt).

You can see that skin colored edge goes up the entirety of his sleeve in the Kai shot, whereas it's solid blue in the Dragon Box footage.

If I had to hazard a guess, it'd be a result of the grain reduction interpolating the colours poorly between the black line edge and the blue. If you sample the colours, it's grey, which supports that theory.

That would make sense, though it does have a bit of an orange tint to it.

Yes, there's a line of his medium shade of hair color on his hairline even in the Dragon Boxes, but in Kai it looks like it's bleeding through to his skin. I guess the noise reduction is just smearing it, but it makes it look like VHS color bleed. Otherwise though, it's obvious how much more crisp and defined the line art is in Kai compared to the Dragon Boxes, so the remastering is a very mixed bag.
