I'd like to see the original interview, because that translation is honestly quite strange in parts. For instance, i doubt a producer expands Toriyama's outline by himself. Is that even what an anime producer is supposed to do?

Nope. The series director and series composer (series kousei) handle that, although the producer is still there to help the series director get his ideas into practice. It might be that Sakurada was brought on to the story arc before Nagamine, but Nagamine as the main creator will still be in charge, never the less.

I think we'll be having mix of little tasks and hard training. The title for the episode is "Gohan and Piccolo, The Master and the Disciples Intense Training to the Limit"

In Episode 89 Tien will open his dojo. I love that they're using some of the Dragon Ball Online timeline.

Do you guys think Goku could use Instant Transmission to avoid a ring out? I can see it happening once before the Grand Priest announces "U7 will not be penalized as there was no rule against such a move. However if used again Goku will be disqualified"

Why disqualified?
It is a technique, he can spam it all he wants to avoid all kinds of danger..
That's like saying hit will be disqualified for using time stop as he can move in the ring and avoid ring out

Because the point of not flying (over the edge or in general) is so you can't spam flight to avoid ring out. Same principal.

Not everyone knows the IT.. only goku so far, he is going to last till the end either way, this will be a perfect way to pull it off as well..
Besides no flight still gives every other characters disadvantage and in case of roshi advantage..
