This forum is so over-dramatic that it's not even funny.

The entire South America went nuts. This is impressive, great to watch that passion and can be only good for Dragon Ball Franchise future.

I just hope we'll beat One Piece this week in Japan, at least. Would like to se a 7.x for the final episode.

Their reactions to the final minutes of the episode are GOLD! I had a good laugh when everyone started chanting Freeza's name. :D

Most videos I've seen are from Mexico. South America is Colombia and under.

The thing is those are illegal streams, so all those Latin American's viewing it doesn't contribute to advertising ratings and Toei doesn't get any money off it. That's why Toei wanted to shut those streams down.

Its terrific publicity. And Toei will probably take measures that allow them to profit more from said exposure.

DBZ is huge in Latin America in general, so these showings of strength aren't surprising in the least. It was a staple of many big television channels across these countries. In Brazil, where I'm from, in the late 90's/early 00's, it aired on Cartoon Network and then on Rede Globo, which is by far our country's biggest channel basically since TV's inception here, at premium timeslots, and were so popular that they usually had little success replacing the reruns with new cartoons and anime many times, and had to slot DBZ in again because newer titles (like Beyblade, Shaman King, off the top of my head) among others, failed to draw as many viewers as DBZ repeats.

Naruto and One Piece for example never neared the same traction. Honestly, you can only compare DBZ's influence with Pokémon's around here. And I'll still argue DBZ's popularity lasted way longer.

I love Freeza but I never saw the day that people will be shouting for him to help Goku.

Oh yeah easily. Pokémon I'd say hit a higher peak than Dragon Ball Z, just going by the anime, and the Pokémon the First Movie was very successful at the box office but the series was very much a fad.

It came about, hit it big and then really died down, all in the sake of a few years perhaps. You hardly even hear about the anime anymore outside of that first episode for Sun and Moon because it had different look.

Dragon Ball has always maintained its popularity, even before Super and even before the movies, it was still really popular, more so Pokémon that was airing.

I expect the finale to be less than 4.5% now. What else could you want for a finale??

Japanese fans are a weird bunch

Super's in the #4 spot though. It's not often we climb that high.

Lower numbers than last week, but higher ranking? I guess that's ok.
