Amazing art in the second part! Damn I just wish they`d remove this computer generated auras, so I can enjoy the linework better. A masterpiece second part, movement, animation, not sure who did it, but he is a god! :) Look like you can do great movement and still trow 10 tones of shading in there. I wish they can figure something out about those auras, they really ruin the incredible linework and shading sometimes!

When it aired thought nothing would top the DBS special...

Now imagine if the Trunks arc had episodes like this? Holy shit.

-Episode 130-

HOLY SHIT!!! That was amazing!!! By far the best animated DBS episode and one of the best animated of the entire franchise.
This episode just explains why I love this franchise so much. Goku vs Jiren will surely became an iconic fight in the future.

The storyboard and direction were phenomenal too. I knew Nakamura would deliver! Fantastic job!
I also loved the writing and Jiren is getting more interesting as character.

Shida finally delivered his best cut in Super. His work is always a delight to see, but in this arc there was nothing impressive to see considering what he can do. He finally did it!!
it's good he was in this episode so Yamamuro didn't correct him.

GOD Takahashi next week and as expected from the one that should be the character designer of its franchise he will deliver greatness!!
I just hope Yamamuro fucks off and doesn't correct him too much. Just the nerve of him trying to correct someone far above his level is offensive.

It really makes me wonder what Super could have looked like with a proper schedule.

Atrocious writing aside, this was truly the best animated episode of this series and probably of the whole franchise including movies!

I don't know if it was a Shida cut when Vegeta was cheering for Goku, but man... That was also the best looking Vegeta in the series, do anyone has the pic?

You speak like FT arc was fully composed of badly animated episodes, I would say: imagine if we had episodes like this in RoF.

I'm rewatching it via the Eng dub and it's not holding up too well at all from the animation and art standpoint. Narrative wise the arc is great which is why I mentioned it.

Even Shimaunki episodes in that arc starting to look off to me now.

The average episodes we get would considered bad episodes if Super had a better schedule.
Image
The facial features, the pure black hair and the body is all Takahashi, but the shading on the face seems to be corrected by Yamamuro. I'm kinda sad we won't get that crazy curved shading again, but whatever this is still amazing!

I think this episode perfectly highlights why we should expect more from the movies.

For gods sakes, this episode was better animated than ROF was.

I think the whole "goddamnit, ANOTHER hair color change?" deal was worth it after seeing the mastered-UI model animated in full glory like this.

This show's narrative has been run somewhere into the 7th circle of hell - but i will be DAMNED if that wasnt a purtttty episode. Watching this show find ways around it's bad schedule has been a blast. A whole lot of learning I did over the course of this show. And so while i think this is some of the worst writing I've seen anywhere near anything (It's fairy tail levels of bad what with all the clear rule-breaking such as attacking the audience and zeno letting anything happen because "OHHHHHH!!!" and whatnot)

This episode gets a 15/10 Ultra instinct dodgeball dodges from me. Why this clip? It fliped right over it's bad production and knocked the episode straight out.

If an episode from a show with poor scheduling can manage to look this amazing, then I can't even imagine what the next movie is going to look like. We are in for a treat.

I knew my boy Higashide was there, those spins are dinstinctive from him.

Man, this episode is the bestest the entire Dragon Ball franchise has ever regurgitated, period.
