I know what's good or bad is subjective, but really?
I vaguely recall someone saying something like: "the drawings are shit, but the speed is good." :eh:
People who don't know what they're talking about, more than likely. The same one's who like to post in-betweens and call it bad animation.
Exactly.

Looks pretty good for a action shot in motion. I really like how those flying humans and the car look.

You know we rarely get to see proper slow motion in Dragon ball, it could really enhance the fights if used well. Does anyone know of any animator(outside DB) who does slow motion scenes well?
Feel free to correct me if I say something wrong.

I just noticed something when looking at the staff list of Super. Sawaki Noborisa looks to be talented enough, to get promoted really fast. Entered in #68 as KA, his next episode, #74 he was already assistant Animation supervisor, then worked on the opening, in his latest episode,#79, he worked as an Animation Supervisor.

They're from the same studio as Ono, I wonder if they are going to stay a pair or if they might split up for some episodes. I kinda hope they stick together with Ono handling one half of their episodes and Sawaki handling the other half with all of the key animation done by their studio and other outsource studios with the occasional in house talent popping in depending on the episode.
What was the name of the studio they're from again?

I have no clue. Studio Last house I guess?, because that is where Ohara Taiichiro was from. Ono is a confusing one because the only members who have been consistently with him so far are Uchida Hiroyuki,Ohara Taiichiro and Iizuka Yoko . Also, Sawaki Noborisa is seeming to be consistent too.

Edit: Scratch Studio Last house, I don't think they are around anymore. Interesting though that he has ties with people such as Ohara Taiichiro and lizuka Yoko. Both have long history with DB.

Whatever the studio is, I hope Sawaki handles half of episode 85 with Ono handling the other half, and with 7 weeks between episodes for him it'd be a pretty good chance for us to see what his style is.

On the subject of episode 82, it will be interesting to see how Nii Hirotaka evolves (assuming he stays), some of his stuff in 82 was really nice, other bits seemed kinda off, but it feels like he has potential.
I think Itai is going to grow into one of the show's best supervisors.

Definitely keeping my eyes on Itai, especially since #73.

Then the arc continues past the battle royal similar to the Buu arc.
I had the idea that they may have each episode focus on a different person's perspective of the fight but I prefer this idea. Constant, quality animation for almost the entirety of two episodes sounds way better than the schedule being allowed to damage certain scenes in a full length tournament.

Well, maybe if you're asking a DB animator... Jin Inaba, Futoshi Higashide. And Karasawa is the opposite of that I think. Shida can do both.

Also, do you think this arc will have famous/talented animators from other Studios or Famous/talented freelancers?
I think it will, maybe Yammamuro have toned down his super "Amazing" design on other characters and maybe a lots of animators will get attracted because it's a Battle Royal, totally a battle-playground for animators.

Don't forget that after the Tournament, there's maybe a plot twist. Because it's Toriyama. Who knows Zamasu still survives and comes back :P
I'm bad at English and still learning. If there's anything wrong, please correct me. :D

I like this too. Since we're taking the 48 minutes literally, it would be cool if there was some kind of timer on the top of the screen.

But it's likely Toei will just drag it out as long as they can and treat it as another Namek 5 minutes situation.

I don't see what's wrong with dragging it out past the original 48 minutes. The characters move much faster than what we are actually seeing so time is slowed down for us anyways.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

It would be great if the biggest animation monsters could collaborate to give us the best 2 parter db ever had. That would definitely put the series again on the map even for the worse haters and would show that Toei's staff has some basic marketing skills.
Watching db not been on the top all the time is kind of a joke. Its a successful franchise with an already established fanbase and numerous new fans. I don't care if they had 2 months or 10 years of pre-production. Develop a plan that would ensure the series longevity and success should be top priority for both the franchise and the studio as well as every other company related. If they indeed seek to improve the series by outsourcing a lot of episodes and giving the main staff some breathing space, I would like to comment "finally". They should do that in the Beerus and Frieza saga

I wont mind if we get another 2 months of filler after the Tournament of Power Arc, though those 2 months should be focused on the other Universes, like finally getting to see the gang visiting Planet Salada?

Talking about tomorrow's episode, am i the only one who spotted Seizo Toma? (Well, i think it's him, i'm not a specialist at this unfortunately! xD)
Image
This particular shot, alongside the Pilaf Gang's part are reminding me episode 4...

+ I rewatched episode 75's Goku vs Krilin, which was by Koji Nashizawa, and i now believe he did that Krilin - Basil fight. Thoughts?

That shot's a follow up from this one which is a Takeo Ide correction:
Image
The character art during the Kuririn fight doesn't seem to have the character art I currently associate with Nashizawa, either.

It'll be interesting to see who (if anybody) is with Nashizawa next week. If it weren't for him being so high up on the in-house list for episode 80 I wouldn't really doubt his ability to solo supervise, but with only 4 weeks since then I feel like there has to be someone else with him. Maybe with the extra week Ide will be able to pick up the slack and essentially be a second supervisor.

Episode 82

No Nii entry for obvious reasons. His style seems pretty clear, but again, like other new additions that have come before, I'd rather see multiple episodes to confirm.

I'm really sorry that these have been getting later and later each week. I've been struggling with some personal issues for a little while now. Trying to get back on track, though!

I appreciate the patience, even though by this point, I know that many of you don't actually need these entries.
