I think Pariz is a better spelling for that name, but yes, all the name changes (Makita, Pariz,) and the semi name changes (Piccoro, Burma, Tinshenhan) were kept. They're being 100% consistent with the names they had in the Z dub (not to say there were too many name changes.)DB_Fan1991 wrote:Do they still use Makita for Vegeta & Paris for Freeza in Super?Kor wrote:Gilan Shahaf (or Shachaf, dunno what spelling he goes with in English). Did they go with Bills for Beerus or is Beerus the same? One weird thing with the Hebrew dub is that they never did Dragon Ball. Any reason as to why?

Beerus is the same. The only real changes so far in super is that Sorbet is... well, Sorbet (with silent T) only with the Hebrew pronunciation of it which is appropriate for the sake of localizing the pun; on the other hand, Shisami was turned to Sisami (no clue why that one happened).DB_Fan1991 wrote:Did they go with Bills for Beerus or is Beerus the same? I never found an official source but I did hear rumors (school yard rumors mind you, so heavy grain of salt there) that they just found the various pervy elements of it to be inappropriate, and while Kamesenin's rare (?) antics in Z could easily have their dialogue rewritten or edited out and it wouldn't affect the flow of things, early DB is filled with such moments.
That said, once they were done with Z and GT (iirc it was after GT), they did dub ALL the movies in the franchise, including the Dragon Ball movies, so people here did get at least some Dragon Ball. Of course, the pervy moments (like in say, Path to Power) were edited out.
Of course that's just what I heard (which I personally wouldn't qualify as reliable information even though there's some logic behind it), and perhaps they began with Z cause plenty of others started with Z and then after doing GT and the movies they didn't feel the urge to go back to original Dragon Ball for one reason or the other.
This is getting a bit out of topic as far as I can tell. Should I just create a DB Super Hebrew thread?

I had a feeling that it had to do with Kame Sennin's antics. You can make a DB Super in Israel thread if you wish.Kor wrote:Beerus is the same.
