Uncle: it's a Kai in Goku's body.

Me: Based on the earring?

Uncle: yes that and he dresses like a kai (Like the little guy)

Hoping episode 56 throws him off.

That being said I love Blacks voice so far and super happy it's not the Batman Goku voice or the British voice.
Give him credit, most of the fandom didn't put that shit together until the reveal.
Yeah I was impressed. I am still waiting for my friends reaction once he watches the episode. I think everyone should post friends reactions to the Goku Black reveal if they didn't know ahead of time.

As great as Nozawa's voice was, she basically only had one tone for Black and lacked range, especially compared to what Miki was doing with Zamasu. So I think if done right Sean can surpass her performance.
I personally fine that unlikely. Nozawa's Black is nearly perfect. It wasn't 'lacking range' it was more than Black was always calm and arrogance no matter what was happening.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

Nailed it, Schemmel. While I thought the British take on Black was interesting (Makes him sorta sophisticated sounding like a Bond villain), it didn't really sound like Goku. This is perfect. It sounds just like Goku, except slightly harsher and deeper. People complaining that it sounds too much like Goku are kind of missing the entire point of the character. The "I can't wait to watch you die." line sounded great, although I don't understand why they changed the script.

Good work, Sean Schemmel  Needed to hear that. This is exactly what we expected to hear from the beginning

Though I heard he dropped his growl-voice months ago in FighterZ... Haven't been following that much since I wanna be surprised with it

This is the best voice Sean could have done. It is impossible for him to mimick Nozawa, so he just did what she did in a vocal sense. Nozawa played Black with a sinister version of her SSj4 voice. Sean has done the same. At least I know it's Goku. With the Rose' voice all I hear is other characters he's played, it's near identical to his Cronos/Crowler and Paradox voices from his work on 4Kids Yu-Gi-Oh!, it really takes me out of his performance.

So...um...I found THIS on YouTube...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_ekYfzaZWQ.
Can't hear the voices well for shit, but spoiler warning for sure.
Fused Zamasu sounds...off though, like they had Schemmel or someone record the dialogue for this sneak preview clip to replace Marsters' recordings, which I get...if not for Xenoverse 2's DLC being out for almost a year now with the character. He also doesn't appear to have the voice echo, which leads me to think this.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

I really liked that scene, well acted and Zamasu sounds great to me there. Much better than Xenoverse's take, still sounds a bit pompous which is great.

Was the worry that there was? There was no break that week last year plus Toonami said that was week Space Dandy was returning.

There was a concern here last week or the week before that the last weekend of January was going to be a break weekend.

I, for one, am relieved

I really liked the voice but was it me or was the script a bit off. Goku Black's line was just to be and I felt that Sean rushed through it.
I'm just a DB fan that's in the grey area that exists between an Hardcore Fanboy and a Casual :P

Well as a Dub lover, fan and preferer, i can’t believe i would ever say this. But i knew it already beforehand... Nothing and No one beats Masako Nozawa’s Goku Black! That’s the only db character who’s voice i prefer in Japanese! She absolutely nailed it!

Normal Goku? Sean Schemmel>Masako Nozawa by far ofcourse. But Goku Black is a WHOLLY different story, hands down. I have always said this and i will stand behind that through and through!

Masako Nozawa is the TRUE and original Goku Black! The one i know in love.

Thank God they got Goku Black right. Sean's delivery was sensational. It wasn't the over the top Faux British accent we got in FighterZ or the gruff laringitis induced grovel we got in XV2. It was the perfect pitch of anger while creating a distinct tone to Sean's regular Goku voice.

Great stuff.

I also noticed some lines were drastically changed. Perhaps to better fit the mouth flaps?

Mostly everyone's talking about Goku Black and the Future Trunks Arc dub right now, but I'll just post this anyway.

I posted this late last night on my Home Release Thread, but I'll post it again for others to see. This is how many releases we are now seemingly going to get for Super in "part" and "season" releases from Funimation. Based on this estimate, Super will be ending in Fall 2019 on Toonami and its last home release will be in December of next year (or possibly even 2020 due to Funi's unpredictable scheduling). So yeah, enjoy the ride while it lasts folks. Maybe, if we're lucky - A new series will come next year and run parallel to Super ending on Toonami.

Part Sets:

Dragon Ball Super: Part One / Ep. 1-13 RELEASED July 25, 2017
Dragon Ball Super: Part Two / Ep. 14-26 RELEASED October 3, 2017
Dragon Ball Super: Part Three / Ep. 27-39 RELEASING February 20, 2018
Dragon Ball Super: Part Four / Ep. 40-52 releasing May 2018???
Dragon Ball Super: Part Five / Ep. 53-65 releasing August 2018???
Dragon Ball Super: Part Six / Ep. 66-78 November 2018???
Dragon Ball Super: Part Seven / Ep. 79-91 releasing March 2019???
Dragon Ball Super: Part Eight / Ep. 92-104 releasing June 2019???
Dragon Ball Super: Part Nine / Ep. 105-117 releasing September 2019???
Dragon Ball Super: Part Ten / Ep. 118-131 releasing December 2019???

Possible Season Sets:

Dragon Ball Super: Season One / Ep. 1-26 releasing ???
Dragon Ball Super: Season Two / Ep. 27-52 releasing ???
Dragon Ball Super: Season Three / Ep. 53-78 releasing ???
Dragon Ball Super: Season Four / Ep. 79-104 releasing ???
Dragon Ball Super: Season Five / Ep. 105-131 releasing ???

If those episode counts turn out correct, part five is cruel. The final episode has a next episode previews for Vegetto Blue. So you'll see Vegetto Blue, and then have to wait 3 months for his part to release.

Yeah, that's what someone else said, but keep in mind that the episode would've already aired on Toonami by the time Part 6 comes out. That is, if the fan doesn't wait until the home releases to see things dubbed.
