Official Tournament of Power Eliminations Thread (Complete)

Post by shadowmaria » Sun Jul 02, 2017 3:38 am

The purpose of this thread is to keep an accurate record of the events unfolding within the Tournament of Power.

Both the anime and manga sections of this post will be updated accordingly as the series progresses. For the sake of keeping things neat, I have spoiler tagged both sections.

There's a notation at the bottom of this post as to when the post receives a considerable update (such as after a chapter or an episode), however minor edits may be made during the week as I develop the post to be as comprehensive as possible.

I have also included a comprehensive list of all competitors in the Tournament of Power.

You will also notice that the elimination numbers have been coloured in red, as have eliminated Universe's and competitors therein. This is a decision made to ensure that we know that a Universe or competitor is no longer competing in the Tournament of Power.

Alongside certain characters, you will also notice a bracketed number as such: (?). This is to indicate how many eliminations that character has (if any), and will be periodically updated as the Tournament of Power progresses.

Tournament of Power Elimination Rules:
A Breakdown of the Rules is As Follows:

I've put this segment together as folks seem to be having difficulty determining what is and isn't counted as an elimination for certain characters.

Why does Goku have the elimination when Nink threw himself off the stage

Why does Frieza only have one elimination and not two? :problem:

Why doesn't Krillin have three eliminations?!

I'm hoping this tag clarifies those questions for you. As more eliminations take place and more confusion is raised, more rules will be outlined below;

1. Standard Elimination: This video shows a perfect example of a standard single elimination. In this video, we see Basil eliminate Lilibeu. Basil gets 1 Elimination Point
2. A Character Uses An Energy Increase To Gain An Elimination: This video shows a perfect example of a character gaining an elimination because of the shockwave caused by powering up. For example, Goku powers up to Super Saiyan Blue, breaking the hold Nink has him in and forcing Nink off the stage. Goku gets 1 Elimination Point.
3. Multi-Elimination: This video shows us a perfect example of multiple characters gaining multiple elimination points, or a combination thereof. In the aforementioned example, Goku and Vegeta both eliminate the Trio de Dangers, and therefore Goku gains 3 Elimination Points, and Vegeta gains 3 Elimination Points. In the case where Master Roshi and Tien Shinhan both eliminated The Preecho with a combination of Lightning Flash Surprise Attack and Neo Tri-Beam, both competitors gained 1 Elimination Point Each. This video shows Vegeta eliminating Prum and Dr Rota, so Vegeta gains 2 Elimination Points.
4. Self-Elimination: This video (from 45 seconds in) shows us Roselle eliminating himself following torture and elimination from Frieza. As Roselle makes the decision to run off the battle stage and Frieza does not push or knock or hit or blast him off, Frieza does not gain an Elimination Point because he did not physically knock Roselle off the fighting stage
5. Assisted Elimination: This video is an excellent example of an assisted elimination. As you can see, despite two competitors working in tandem to eliminate Shosa, #18 is the competitor that makes the final blow that finally eliminates him. Therefore #18 gains 1 Elimination Point, and Krillin does not.
6. Double Elimination: This video shows us Hermila first eliminating a Tien Shinhan multi-form (25% of Tien Shinhan's being), followed by the tri-clops himself grabbing Hermila and eliminating Hermila, in tandem with Hermila eliminating Tien Shinhan. As both characters eliminated each other almost simultaneously, both characters get 1 Elimination Point.
7. A Fused Character Gains An Elimination or is Eliminated: As two or more characters fusing creates a new character with their own techniques, identity, name, and characterisation; the fused character would gain their own Elimination Point, for the Universe that they originate from. Conversely, if a fused character is eliminated, then the eliminator will only gain one Elimination Point.
8. A Character Dies or is Killed or Commits Suicide: If a character dies or is killed, it will wholly depend on the situation as to whether or not an elimination point is granted. If a character commits suicide (as in 127), then no elimination point is granted as nobody eliminated that fighter.
You could add how many enemies every universe has eliminated:

Universe 7: 1
Universe 9: 1.

Cool!! Ranking every week, please.

What I also like is that we are having a lot of names. I expect they will reveal the names of all them.

Currently, we know the names of 34 competitors in the Tournament of Power. Just short of 50%, with four names confirmed today. :D

Kind of ironic the two 'weakest' universes are the ones who have got elimations under their belt
Favourite User quote:

1. Goku (Universe 7) has eliminated 6 competitor & Vegeta (Universe 7) has eliminated 6 competitors

It certainly is an interesting development.

There's a fantheory going around that Universe 9 will go first, due to getting the showing they had in the Zen Exhibition Match

Next week should be interesting, Universe 7 vs Universe 9 predominately (per the NEP), so it'll be interesting to see how things shape up!

Well they have the lowest mortal level, not weakest. E.g. Universe 7 might have a low mortal level because of saiyans and freeza destroying everything, ironically a version of universe 7 without saiyans or freeza might have a higher mortal level but weaker participants. But yes, I think that is interesting, nevertheless. Good inversion, goes to how you can't predict these things, and might make the "exempt" universes a bit scared as well.

They're getting this screen time because they'll be the first team eliminated. Most likely just by Goku and Vegeta
How i predict the tournament will end:

Despite the fact it likely won't happen, I want Goku to be eliminated first in Universe 7. Build that tension!

Does Goku get the credit for the elimination or was it more a suicide by Nink?

I mean if we looked at it like Nink having a grenade and trying to blow up Goku and himself, then I wouldn't say Goku beat him. He just survived it whilst Nink eliminated himself.

Goku literally used his own Aura/Ki to knock him off. The grenade example isnt even similar.

Yeah just checked that, wasn't sure it had happened until after he had gone over, just happened a moment before.

and I suppose if you're already both over the edge then an extra push would give you the elimination just like smash bros.

I mean I do get what youre saying...that he was going off the edge either way, but considering his entire goal was taking Goku and he didnt Id say he gets the ring out

Rewatching the moment, it definitely felt like Goku used his excess ki as a result of transforming into his Super Saiyan Blue form eliminated Nink

Great idea op.. maybe a universe mvp when it's all said and done. But it might be too much with opponent strength, valuable decisions or team play. Keep it simple for sure.

Thank you, fellow Kanzenshuu patron! I hope not to let anyone down!

Basically, from this thread we'll be able to determine who the MVP Universe is, who the MVP competitor is, who should have forfeited from the beginning, and where the universes stack up.

Based on the NEP for DBS98 and on the ending of DBS97, it seems that Universe 9 is going to get pummelled by Goku and Vegeta next week. It will be curious to see which Universe gets erased first… :eh:
