Technically, nobody booped the button and we may be assuming 17 is gone. This is just like with Hit but with an even better chance he's not gone. What if he ran off in the explosion. I would imagine as an android he could go into low power mode better than anyone.

Those shields did last a bit after the so called self destruction of Android 17... It's a bit suspicious. This could also be a Universe 7 plan. Or at minimum an Android 17 plan. He did say he had one just before all this. Was he referring to the shield tactic and self destruct or using it as a ploy. Maybe he's copying frieza and getting out of the limelight incase Jiren roflstomps(brollystomps) Vegeta and Goku. Now is a better time than any to hide in the rubble.

The full Korean raws have released, which have allowed me to see the full chapter visually, and put the above together.

Once we have translations, I'll make any necessary adjustments. I just can't update it based on lack of scans or a text summary as there's bound to be inconsistencies

Nah. The anime was way more ambiguous. In the manga, he vanished at the same time that Prum did when they both got knocked off the stage. I hope I'm wrong though.
