Ok so I was thinking about epiosde 101 and was reminded of a scene from Journy to the West.
My memories a bit hazy but I could have swarn there's a part of the story were Sun Wukong is tricked by a demon, pretending to be a an old women, into carrying them home only for the demon to turn to stone, then increase in size and weight to try and trap the monkey king as he had once been befor.
Nice little call back if it is.

That would be awesome because that is how Dragon Ball was inspired by in the first place

I don't know whether that was an intentional reference or not, but I believe they might be setting up Goku to confront the Gods, similar to how Sun Wukong did in Journey to the West.
