Some scenes in episodes 109-110 have been cut in subbed version!
Sorry for creating new topic but I find this kinda important and I wanted to attract people's attention the best I can.
If you watched those episodes subbed either on Daisuki or Crunchyroll you could notice (on the condition you watched RAW Japanese version first) that there's about one minute which has been cut (in EP 109).
Basically two scenes :
Grand Priest protecting Zenos with some sort of shield
Vegeta yelling at Goku to push Genki Dama/Spirit Bomb back and other U7 contestants reaction.
I don't know if I can put this link but I am talking about moment 22:46 - 23:46

Re: Some scenes in episodes 109-110 have been cut in subbed version!
damn, why they did that?
yesterday i paid for a CR subscription and i was frustrated as it took LONG hours until i could watch the official release. To know that i missed some parts... it is even more frustrated... but maybe it was Toei that gave the streaming services the episodes this way?
and man, remove the link, i think it is prohibited to post illegal links here

Is there a subbed version of those scenes?
Gowasu's number 1 fan.

I am trying to find but so far - unsuccessfullyTheDipDap1234 wrote:Is there a subbed version of those scenes?
Re: Some scenes in episodes 109-110 have been cut in subbed version!
Yea, this is pathetic. I watch the subs so I get to see the whole original show. I don't understand them. Toie and others need to force them into contracts not to edit things for subs. Or period.
So, basically, subbers are now taking it upon themselves to remove potentially important scenes from us for what reason? That was very significant for that to happen. Are they allowed to do that? Are the guys making this show aware this is happening.
I'm surprised I can't find anything else on it.

Re: Some scenes in episodes 109-110 have been cut in subbed version!
The same thing happened with OP last week. Seems it's part of the process of splitting the episode, might be like this even on the BD. Tbh it wasn't anything too important.
Re: Some scenes in episodes 109-110 have been cut in subbed version!
It was technically important as it showed zeno might need protection. It shows pretty significant information about a character. Just through a non verbal manner. This could be where half the confusion about stuff in the show comes from. What else have they cut that would help explain the show. I would say this is absolutely significant. Especially if this is happening throughout the arc or entire DBS series. It's really disgusting they are doing this. They shouldn't be this thoughtless or whatever they are being. The writers should absolutely put a stop to this and do something to ensure it doesn't happen.
Are they allowed to do this. And does anyone official know they are doing it.

I'd get that link out of the opening post.
Checked the raw and the closed-caption file. Here's the missing dialogue, minor as it is:

Grand Priest: This isn't good. (We can't have this.) (Shielding the Zenos)
Gohan: Dad!
Piccolo: It's not enough!
18: This is bad!
17: Tch.
Freeza: My, my. Those two are getting a little too rambunctious.
Vegeta: What are you doing, Kakarot? Push it back!
I'll tweet at Herms to see if he wants to toss out a better translation for posterity, but it's incredibly minor dialogue.304

The Funimation upload has the scenes.
Re: Some scenes in episodes 109-110 have been cut in subbed version!
I'm more annoyed about the visual side. Not the dialogue. It shows zeno being shielded. It has character development scenes that could explain al ot. And if cut in the past could have been explaining things in the past. Basically subbtitlers rewriting the show in minor to not so minor ways. Those things give a lot away over time about the characters in the show.
But the funimation ones only have subs up to half the episode then they magically break. Is that just me or does everyone not get that problem from their website.

It's the ad breaks. You can just toggle them off and on again to get them back.Arugela wrote:I'm more annoyed about the visual side. Not the dialogue. It shows zeno being shielded. I called it that Gogeta, Bardock, and something Broly related would be in the movie before it was even announced that it was a Broly movie.

Re: Some scenes in episodes 109-110 have been cut in subbed version!
WTF? It wasn't just the dialogue that was cut, there was a whole scene of Goku and Jiren pushing the spirit bomb back and forth against each other. Why the hell was this cut from the Crunchyroll version? Between their shitty servers yesterday and now this I'm pretty pissed off at CR right now.
For anyone curious about the missed scenes, here is an official link from Funimation's website, but I don't think there are any subtitles:
https://www.funimation.com/shows/dragon ... -vs-jiren/
Starts at about 23:00

Re: Some scenes in episodes 109-110 have been cut in subbed version!
It is not their fault, it is Toei who supplied them the episodes, the same thing happened on Daisuki, it was cut because of the process of splitting the episodes, extra ED and NEP for #109. Unless the BD's group #109-110 then it would be cut like that on the home video releases too, maybe it'll make it as an extra or something. I am sure there may have been instances of cut content in the past we don't know about.Asura wrote:WTF? Re: Some scenes in episodes 109-110 have been cut in subbed version!
Either way it's bullshit. Is there not a single officially subbed version that has these scenes in tact? Funi's link doesn't seem to have any subtitles.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:It is not their fault, it is Toei who supplied them the episodes, the same thing happened on Daisuki, it was cut because of the process of splitting the episodes, extra ED and NEP for #109. Re: Some scenes in episodes 109-110 have been cut in subbed version!
Someone posted the comparison on Twitter
https://twitter.com/bonusstage/status/9 ... 2880687105
Hopefully it will be added back on Crunchyroll later. Otherwise I guess we will have to wait for the BR.
And of course a scene with Vegeta encouraging Goku is cut (which also somewhat lessens Vegeta saying he won't help earlier on) . It's not the end of the world but still.

Wow, so they just basically changed the end for the streamings. I can't believe this. I'm kind of mad. The Zeno part was important. Those kids needs protection? I'm confused, and mad.

I don't think it was on purpose. Most likely Toei sent the wrong video files.
Re: Some scenes in episodes 109-110 have been cut in subbed version!
So is there an officially subbed version out there that has these scenes? I was planning to show a friend 109 and 110 tonight and the missing scenes aren't a huge deal but it would be nice to have them given it makes Vegeta seem a little less like an asshole, and shows Jiren putting up a little more of a struggle against the spirit bomb.
EDIT: Nevermind, I'm stupid. The funi version has subtitles, you just have to hit "Japanese" under Audio before you get the option to select subtitles, even though the audio is obviously already in Japanese. Weird, but at least it works now.
