Why do people think Beerus is stronger than Jiren?

Post by Amir » Thu Jan 18, 2018 11:29 am

It absolutely doesn't make sense. Whis said Jiren perhaps surpassed the STATE of a GOD, which automatically puts him at high tier GOD level if not above all of them.
In the manga it was confirmed Jiren is above Belmod while it wasn't confirmed Beerus is stronger than Belmod, since Belmod was faking his defeat for an unknown amount of time, and Belmod managed to trap Beerus and hurt him with the cards.

Forget Jiren being stronger than Beerus, it's most likely the case but I can somewhat understand why people would deny that, but Beerus stronger than Jiren? What gives? All the evidences suggest the opposite.

You can't say one way or the other.

In the manga, Beerus is shown as one of the 2 strongest GoDs along with Quitela and Belmod is a wild card cause he "played dead" as you said.
All we can say for sure is that Jiren > Belmod.
My personal belief is that Toriyama would show Goku and Vegeta passing Beerus by fighting him and not via transitive property. E.G Goku/Geets > jiren > Beerus but i can't say for sure

First lets talk about the Gods. Their power is most likely tremendously different based on age, training and race.

Lets look at Sidra obviously we don't know his power but Beerus could be easily 20, 30 or even 50 times stronger. That same could be for Belmod. Why can't Beerus be 50 times stronger? Why can't one of the Gods like Geene be 50 times stronger than Beerus? They can. The fact is we don't know for sure. However based on training, experience, race and among other things it is easy to realize there is some major differences in power.

Jiren is stronger than Belmod but if Beerus is still 50 times stronger (per my example) Then he can still be stronger than Jiren. So it makes perfect sense.

This is of course speculation because we can only speculate but one thing is for sure. Beerus and Whis are fixtures in the show that must remain relevant and their power when you think it will be surpassed won't. The reason it is left so open ended is because it gives the writers flexibility. So when the Arc is finished I don't expect anyone to have surpassed our favorite God of Destruction Beerus. Not Jiren, Goku or Vegeta.

For all we know Beerus can begin training again for 1 month and become 50 times stronger if Jiren or anyone threatens his power. That is the beautiful thing about Dragon Ball Super.

The evidences we have suggest that Jiren is stronger than Beerus, and non suggest that Beerus is stronger than Jiren.
Nothing suggets Beerus is above Belmod as well.

From the manga, we know that Beerus, the rat and Belmod are the most powerful ones, but by small differences because all GODs are relative in power, we also know Jiren is stronger than Belmod, so it's better to assume Jiren is the strongest.
From the anime, we know Jiren may have surpassed the STATE of a god of destruction based on Whis's statement so it's logical to say Jiren is the strongest. The anime almost directly says Jiren is stronger than all GODs.

Even in the manga, all the Gods of Destruction are shown to be relative to each other. So there isn't a huge power different between them.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.
