I'm really happy with how well Roshi, 17, and Freeza were portrayed.
Their characterization was taken above and beyond, and all three got the respect they deserved and more after a long period of retirement, so to speak, from the spotlight.

Vegeta , I didn't expect a new form or for him to beat a God of destructionDestructoDisc wrote:Anime version only. To me, the only ones who exceeded my expectations were Roshi, Vegeta and the 2 androids/cyborgs. I never thought they will do as good as they did.
Remember when the geniuses in this fandom thought he would job to ribrianne, job to frost, job to the invisible bug, I do.

Jiren, not because he really exceeded my expectations, but because i never though they would give him an interesting character in the last two episodes. In that regards, i applaud toei.

I always found job a really unnecessary term, takes away from the glory and interest of a fight and espically the fighters no matter who wins.BlueVegerot wrote:Vegeta , I didn't expect a new form or for him to beat a God of destructionDestructoDisc wrote:Anime version only. Also, it was perfectly reasonable to wonder that anyone could really beat anyone in the ToP cause of the mystery of the other fighters.
That is what made the ToP so exciting and what made allot of us watch, we did not know how strong, skilled or tactical each fighter would be so we waited as each fighter showed who they where and wonder what levels of fighting power they would so. Predictions either way for either character is what made this all fun, just expecting either Vegeta or Goku or Frieza or anyone else to easily win from the start or to expect that and need that takes away from the fun and interest of what a fight might bring.
Honestly the show gets boring if all the Main cast just wins~wins all the time with no challenge at least given or threat they might lose or have to put up a good fight.

dyspo showed to be quite brave and strong when faced with frieza despite making it physically weaker
kefla I really did not expect a fusion so if I was surprised enough
toppo although he saw himself coming for being a god in training, I did not think that his training would be so aweome
frieza well really his final scene seemed to me shocking next to goku

Except he didn't. Toppo was no GoD. Just a candidate. Vegeta wankers need to calm down lol.buutenks wrote:Vegeta, never would I have expected him to beat a GoD.

Jesus, did you people even watch the show? It was very CLEARLY stated by Belmod that Toppo became as powerful as a GoD of Destruction.IndieBooToo wrote:Except he didn't. Toppo was no GoD. Ribrianne lol
I hated her through the entire tournament except when her universe gets erased and that she gets her lesson with Krillin and 18, despite how much she annoyed the hell out of me so much for so long I was really surprised to actually look at her differently at that moment and almost accept her lol
more seriously though, 17 lol

Universe 3, didn't expected them to last this long.
Re: Who exceeded your expectations in the Tournament of Power?
Exceeded expectations
Definitely 17, I expected him to do well but not that he would ultimately win the tournament in the end.
Freeza, because he was a wild card never quite knowing If he'll help or stab you in the back made him enjoyable to watch.
Roshi, showed why he is a master genius when it comes to fighting (even though he's one of the weaker fighters physically)
Below expectations
Gohan, He was a very bland character in the TOP, I hoped to see some epicness from him but he fell short for me.
Piccolo, Piccolo used to be a bad ass (remember DB), sadly nothing remains from that character anymore. his TOP debute was boring and bland.
Krillin, Same as Piccolo, but was more a gag character in TOP (smelly shoe attack anyone? )
Tien, Was barely there.
