I wonder if in Japan they would show it with English subtitles in some selective theatres, to aim for the international audience that comes.

I believe some did for RF. I remember someone uploaded a clip on YT wayback then and it had both JPN & ENG subs on the screen.

Really?! I thought those subs came from someone else who got the DVD release of the film and made the translations themselves.

The worst part is that I live in Greece and there's no way in hell the movie will be released in theatres. I'll have to wait and protect myself from spoilers until I can either pirate it or buy it as a Blu-Ray.
