Parts 6 and 7 Kikuchi Z audios are now available in my mega folder for download, as well as the audios for Faulconer Part 6. I'm revising over Faulconer Part 7 for release sometime in the next few days. After that, I'll most likely go on another hiatus, but I'm sure most of you are used to me dropping in and out at this point, haha.

I'm pretty happy(and proud) with how the audios for Kikuchi and Faulconer in these releases shaped up. Unlike Part 5, which was me dumping them as-is for (beta) release, these have been revised over as far as music edits/volume level for a higher level of quality and polish. Hopefully that is reflected as those of you interested check them out. So, as far as what's left to score--I've finished both Kikuchi and Faulconer for 53-98, so all that remains are the 20ish Yamamoto episodes to score. Not that I'm in a rush--there's plently of time from here till the potential first Boo saga set comes out to wrap everything dealing with 53-98 up(as far as scoring, anyway).

Actually, now that I think about it, it's been two years since I roughly started this project. Crazy how time flies. . .

Anyways, I'll make another post once I get Faulconer Part 7 out the door.

Kuwabara wrote:It hasn't been officially confirmed yet, but based on hints given by kei17 it's extremely likely that the upcoming Buu episodes of Kai will have a brand new score by Norihito Sumitomo. Obviously you already have quite a lot of work ahead of you as it is, but have you given any thought to rescoring episodes 1-98 with this score once you've finished arranging the other three? This is of course assuming that Toei doesn't do it themselves for yet another re-release, but who even knows with this franchise? I trust your judgement on track placement way more anyway.

I really hope you don't take this the wrong way, I sincerely appreciate all the work you've done so far and am looking forward to this project's completion!
Oh, it's no big deal. I get different request and questions quite a bit, heh. Even though this is two months late, I honestly don't really have much an interest in the Battle of God's score. There's only like two or three tracks I actually liked from the OST. Regardless, I'm just glad that Sumitomo will be doing Boo Kai--to save us from that unholy mess that was the Kikuchi Kai nonsense. But yeah, the music's just not that appealing for me to play around with the idea of creating a consistent score using his Bog, or any future music that might be released.

And thanks for being interested! It always helps to motivate me a bit more when I see/hear people comment that they're enjoying the work!

Hey guys. Been quite busy, but have a few updates/annoucements.
,
Since my last post, I've finished revising Faulconer for Part 8, as well as going back over Part 5 and tightening it up on the arrangement/volume mixing side to be more consistent with Parts 6-8. Gotta say I feel pretty happy with the results. Had a few videos all ready to go for both. . .but Toei already nuked my alternate account with a copyright strike, so I'm just going to upload future video previews on mega for download(at least, until either of the copyright strikes on my channels expire). So yeah, Faulconer for Parts 5-8 is completely available in my Mega folder now! I'm also in the process of uploading my custom silent tracks for Part 5(the 5.1 track mixed with the center audio), and hope to go through Kikuchi Part 8 out over the weekend(I thought about revising Kikuchi Part 5 like Faulconer. . but I honestly don't have the energy left atm). Then, I think, I'll most likely be going back to my cave to hiberate for a while. I think I deserve it at this point. :)

So, for anyone keeping track, these are the Yamamoto episodes I have left to score: 67, 69-75, 78-86, 89-93, 97-98. Quite a bit. . .but it'll get done at some point.

Oh, and before I forget, here's the actual working link to Faulconer Part 6

FP8: I wish!

KP6: NUKED!

I may have a couple smaller videos to share, but we'll see. Take care guys!

Well, okay, forget what i said about no longer uploading videos. Didn't think about just splitting them up to get around the 15 min limitations. Anyways, carrying on--a slew of new content.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEK_qAa-zLo

SM Encore 98: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-J3EpH0Zgh8

And besides a couple more smaller videos yet to be released, that's pretty much the wrap up for my Faulconer Kai mix(ignoring any small/slight fixes/updates I may do). 53-98 are available in their entirety, so if you've been waiting for the full-set to be completed--well, now you have it! So now it's onto offering Kikuchi fans their fix with the Cell Games for me. I've have that, along with my last round of videos before I go join the polar bears again.

dbzfan7 wrote:So your re-scoring episodes to how they were before?
It depends. With Yamamoto, I try to be faithful, but make some timing/editing adjustments here and there, along with adding/outright changing pieces since Nagasaki honeslty isn't the best music arrangement guy in the world(as has been documented by others in detail at this point). For Kikuchi, I'm mostly faithful, minus some logistics(Kai footage not matching up with Z, etc) and a small bit of my personal taste here and there. With Faulconer, I try to respect the major moments(Vegeta SS, Final Flash, Goku's Instant Kamehameha, etc), but it's mostly my own interpretation of trying to treat the Faulconer score with more respect than Z ultimately did.

Kikuchi is the only one that I will be doing from episode 1 to whatever the last episode of Kai Boo will be, with Faulconer getting select episodes from season 3 Freeza and Boo(due to limited released/unreleased music options). Hope that answers your quesiton!

Trollvino scored the episodes a while back from 53-80. I'd like to see the Yamamoto episodes be completed.

First time poster. Just want to start by saying that this site is awesome, and this thread is especially awesome. My apologies, in advance, if there are rules against bumping a thread this old.

I am a huge Dragon Ball fan. I support the product (manga and anime both), I am not a leech.

Anyway, I was just wondering if this project was still ongoing or if it has been abandoned? I absolutely love the work that has been done so far with this project and being able to watch Kai with the Faulconer (grew up with it, nostalgia central) and Yamamoto (really love it) scores, in addition to the Kikuchi (classic) score, is incredible! For me, it is a way to keep all three scores as fresh as possible. Plus, it's just fun to see the dramatic impact each version has.

I was most curious about the remaining parts (6-8) for the Yamamoto revival. Are those still being worked on, or going to be at some point? I would be ecstatic to hear that they will be completed, as I am particularly fond of his score from episodes 1-52.

Also, I am not really a big sound tech guy, but if there is anything I can do to help this effort (research, potential funds, or something else I can't think of), please let me know. I believe in giving back, and not only taking.

This is the first time I've actually seen this thread. Your stuff is really good! I actually did a little bit of the same thing myself a couple of years ago. I really just made it for my own personal amusement and uploaded it to show somebody. In retrospect, I'm shocked it was never removed since it's practically half of an episode:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWDzCfOuzDI

I have to admit the editing of the songs is really sloppy around the end, though, mostly just because I wanted to sneak some songs I really liked into it. I honestly think the Faulconer Productions score fits Kai more than Z does.

I was listening to some tracks from Kai OST 2 and I feel the score really would do justice to the Buu saga if placed well. Just waiting on your Kikuchi P8 and everything else to come. ^w^

It's too bad both projects focus on the english dub and not the japanese (or french, that would've been my dream, hehe). Having said that, they're still amazing projects. It's just that I don't really wanna sit through the english dub.

Japanese Yamamoto Kai is readily available already. A quick search on a piracy website will help you find what you're looking for.

IIRC, they don't. The Yamamoto scandal happened before these three episodes were aired, so they changed the soundtrack in a hurry and aired them with the Kikuchi score.

Yeah, the project I spoke of was just the TV broadcast audio muxed in with the Blu-ray video.

Those last episodes are Kikuchi only. Since there's no 5.1 track available for the Japanese audio, you'd be hardpressed to fix that without extensive tinkering.

10/5/2014 STATUS UPDATE!

Hey guys, just thought I'd finally drop in to give a proper update since I really have neglected things the past year. As I speak I'm dusting off my old equipment to start working on Part 8 Yamamoto (as well as maybe shipping out Kikuchi Part 8 finally?). My goal is to be completely finished as far as Parts 5-8 by the end of the year, which will leave me I suppose with Kikuchi 1-52 down the road to do (Which, I actually have done the first 7 episodes or so).

So, in short, I'll be picking up with Part 8 this week with finishing the rest of Yamamoto finally over the next couple weeks, as well as try to polish 5-8 in total by the end of the year.

One last thing before leaving: I have no plans, nor desire to do anything with The Final Chapters. From being disappointed with 16:9 only, lowered remastered quality, and the fact Fat Boo/ Justin Cook will most likely be reprising their Boo roles--I really just have no drive or interest in putting in the time effort in placing Kikuchi music for 60+ episodes that I feel ends up as nothing more than an inferior product to what came as before. But, if anyone would like to take The Final Chapters under the MRS banner, I would be more than happy to assist with rips of the audio and/or music.

Other than that, sorry for the lack of updates, and thanks for being so patient!

10/19/2014 Status Update!

Hey guys. Just checking in to mention I completed all of Yamomoto for Part 8 today, so I should have thsoe uploaded shortly. I'll be continuing in reverse with Part 7--roughly 15 epsiodes of Yamamoto left to do before I can say I'm done.

I guess I should also mention that I think I've found the sweet spot with the silent tracks. Bad news is it was after I completed 94, 96-98. So I'll leave them up as is in the mean-time and wait till I"m finished before going to to readjust them properly (although they're certainly stll listenable).

Don't know when I might get around to posting a video or two, but I do have an idea of posting some comparsion ones showcasing the placement differences between Broadcast Yamamoto and my Yamamoto.

Other than that, I'll continue moving forward!

Hi, I am a French fan and first, I would like to thank you for taking the initiative to create such a project:

I'm a fan of the Dragon Ball manga and I think the original anime adaptation is bad because of stupid fillers.

So for me Kai is the best choice, i guess...

But I encounter a problem: although I like the tracks of Yama, for me, Dragon Bal without Kikchi , it's not Dragon Ball.

So Thank you very much!

2-3 Questions :

- The Japanese voices will be available ?

- MP4, Avi or MKV ? Because I watch my animes on PS3 and the MKV...

- Will there be a Japanese score with Kikuchi without the subtitles ?
( so we can put our french subtitles )

thank you, we love your project and good luck !

ps : sorry for my bad english.
