Bardock's character design. The DBZ manga used the TV special design, so his new look can be considered a retcon. Not that retcons are rare in this series. lol

The art style maybe different but it's still the same character design, there's no drastic change in his body structure (like lacking a limp or the monkey tail), his hair cut is the same, he still has a scar on his face and before you mention the armor & bandana, minus is still a month before the planet destruction, Bardock could get both sometime after sending Goku away.

So there's no retcon to Bardock's design at the moment.

I was talking more about his armor and such. That green Saiyan armor and red headband was replaced with something completely different. It's a minor retcon, but still a retcon, unless Bardock randomly changes clothes in the middle of the flashback.
