This has to be the best live action dragon ball I've seen so far.. The fight choreography was pretty amazing, it really matched the show's fighting style.

All the actors are pretty spot on too, especially 17 so far. Perfect match if I say so.

I just want to see more right now! When is episode 2 coming out? Haha I know it'll be worth the wait. :D

Thanks for your support! The Dragon Ball Z: Light of Hope Crowdfunding Campaign is now live.

This is to raise money for Episodes 2 and 3, which we are going to film at the same time.

We're taking everything to the next level, and the fights are going to reach the DBZ extreme.

But we need your help to do it well. So please lend us your genki!

Yeah, we surpassed our previous IndieGogo campaign for the pilot episode in 1 day. That campaign's total of $7,000 took a whole month. It's nice to see that the fans trust us to do it right now, and with their support we'll be able to do an even better job.

Thank you to everyone who donates and shares the campaign.

Hi everyone. We achieved our funding goal of $50,000.

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/drag ... isodes-2-3

This means we'll be making Dragon Ball Z: Light of Hope episodes 2 and 3.

There are still 5 days left before the campaign runs out, so if you haven't yet, please donate and share the campaign with your friends. The taxes and fees on these campaigns are high, and every $1 counts.

We'll do our best to make the DBZ community proud.

For those who are looking forward to episodes 2 and 3 of Dragon Ball Z: Light of Hope, I have some news.

I'm no longer the screenwriter of Light of Hope. I've been replaced by another writer who will comply with Robot Underdog's vision for the series.

That's very disheartening to hear. While I checked out the first episode out of pure curiosity, your involvement with the scripts
was one of the main reasons I became eager to watch the next episode. I've read your one of your books (The over 9000! one) and
I was really interested in seeing the episodes utilize some of the concepts you went over in that book and go deeper into the other
characters like Gohan and Trunks as you did for Goku and Vegeta. I feel like most parodies and adaptations of Dragon Ball only
touch upon the surface level of basic fan perception, so it would have been great to see something where the creators actually
did show some actual knowledge and respect for the source material... While I still plan to check out the next episode
and understand that there are two sides to every story I can't help but say that my excitement for the next episode has been heavily
diminished. It's a darn shame.

If you where going to make a Hollywood DB film then wait until Fox loses the rights to the movie. Fox treats their movies like shit.

It is a shame. And the scripts I wrote did have a lot of psychological content in them.

Yeah, Fox does do that.

It´s a real shame that this happened but this fan project still has full support, regarless of this event. :)
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

Fox is pretty much why DBE happen latter then sooner. They got the rights in 2002 and hire different writers behind the scenes then rejected all of the scripts and drafts. Toriyama wanted a lot of control over the film and Fox was against it. The movie only got made since they had to start filming soon in 2007 to avoid having the rights go back to Shueisha. Tedi Sarafian (Terminator 3) was the one of the original writers for the film and his script was never used. It seems like Fox didn't like his original script.

Fox also screw over other movies like Alien 3, Planet of the Apes (2001), Daredevil, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, I Robot, Kingdom of Heaven, X3, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and the 2015 Fantastic Four movie. I'm pretty sure Hitman: Agent 47 was likely screw over since the director talk about doing a more faithful movie to the games and it end up being a Bourne clone instead. Even the original Hitman movie was rushed thanks to Fox.

Kingdom of Heaven and X3 were good movies and Wolverine 1 is in the same boat as the star wars prequels it gets too much hate.

And the.new Fanstic 4 sucked because of Trank.

Fox screw over both those movies though. Fox force Ridley Scott to edit Kingdom of Heaven to make it look like a more formulaic action-adventure film, when Scott intended for it to be much deeper. Also with X-Men 3, they wanted the movie to be out sooner then later and hire Brett Ratner because hey didn't want Bryan Singer to finish working on Superman Returns. There is also Good Day to Die Hard (Die Hard 5) which Fox didn't give a shit about because they write a bad director and writer to make the movie. They knew it was going to be shit and choose to go with it anyways. It's a shame since I like the 4th Die Hard movie and they even film the movie in front of my dad's office in downtown Baltimore.

Also with Dragon Ball Evolution, they didn't care how bad the movie was and just made the movie anyways to avoid losing the license. James Wong got the job as director since Fox didn't had many choices and they where running out of time. Not to mention that James Wong is also a fan of the series, but he sucks at story telling. In the end, you don't want Fox to make another DB film and 20th Century Fox is the EA of movie companies.

I didn't really care who was writing it, the only thing I cared about was that it felt like Dragon Ball in live action. If they're changing that though, then the series has lost my interest. It can get tossed in the pile with Evolution and "Saiyan Saga".

It's a pity that Derek is no longer writing the series. But as long at the content remains very good, that's all that matters.
