I wish I knew the name of the fan manga where they replaced Goku with Vegeta for the Dragon Ball story. It was funny, well-drawn, and fun.

You may not care for the main story, but have you check out the brief History of Rigor chapters I posted? It takes place before the Genocide of the Saiyans, so none of your fan manga reservations apply. I think that might be the part of my story you'd enjoy.

Recommending any of your fancomics is needlessly cruel.

Buttlord GT is the greatest of all fancomics.

I fail to see how it is "needlessly cruel" to mention that a part of my story might interest him, knowing that he follows my story art wise, and just doesn't care for the plot of the main story arc. If I had known if he had seen it already, I wouldn't have mentioned anything about my own work.

Regardless, I have a few links to some fan manga sites on my home computer, Skar. I'm sure a search through their catalog of stories might yield some results for you. I'll post the links here whn I find them.

Ah yes, one of the classics. It's been a long time since I last read it.
There's also Little Saiyalings, which seemed to go on and on. I recall reading it back when Dragon Ball Arena was my go to DB website. Definitely worth a check, @Skar.
EDIT: Oops you already mentioned it in your opening post

:O I remember that one! It was pretty good but a shame that it got cancelled.

I've seen those. I still read New Age to appreciate the art. It's one of the best drawn fan comics in my opinion. I just can't get into Rigor or any OC Saiyan that much stronger than Goku or Vegeta. Same with Xicor and the Saiyans in Absalon.

And I've seen that "Son Vegeta" comic before. Unfortunately I can't read Japanese but it was still really nice.
ImmaDeker wrote:Recommending any of your fancomics is needlessly cruel.
Why? I may not enjoy the story much but it's still fun to read just for the art. I still read the AFs and EX from time to time for the artwork. I would only consider it cruel if the art was really bad :P.

This is the craziest one I've seen XP. Most have to start with a new saga but this one jumps in right in the middle of the story! It reminds me a little of Invader Zim.

It wasn't very Dragonball-like but I thought it was funny at times. Are there any other good fan comics? There are over 200 views here but only four recommendations! Does that mean there aren't other good ones or are they trying to keep them from me? Most of the ones I found were on some kind of hiatus or cancelled :/.

I found it dumb and on the same level as that Dragon Ball Gangsta crap video online.

How do you feel on crossovers? I liked Dragon Ball Shippuden which stars Goku going into the Naruto world (Mainly focuses on Goku. I don't even care for Naruto and like it). I also liked the Dragon Ball S which is essentially Goku going to the DC Universe during the gap between Cell and Boo, this story takes place after a previous crossover comic he finished where Goku went to the One Piece world.

It appears we dislike the same kind fan comic setups, Skar. I am also a fan of Universe F, and will forever lament it getting discontinued by the artist. :(
Favorite Movies: Alien, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, The Thing, Evil Dead, The Land Before Time
Favorite Shows: Cardcaptor Sakura, Doctor Who, Wallace and Gromit, Wakfu, Yu Yu Hakusho
Favorite Manga: Fullmetal Alchemist, Hunter x Hunter, Dragon Ball

The simple truth is there just aren't many good DB fancomics.

Hell, once you cut out "Broly IV: The Quest for Broly", "old enemies return" and "superpowered relative of old enemy", there's practically no DB fancomics at all.

I love crossovers. I haven't watched much of Naruto but I'll check out DB Shippuden. I couldn't find the comic for Dragonball S. When I searched it showed up as an abbreviation of Dragonball Shippuden. Could you provide a link to that one and the One Piece/DBZ crossover?

Thanks I'll check that one out. I love romance stories especially since we didn't get much of them in the series. I liked one called Yamcha N' Puar where Puar wishes to become a human. I'm pretty sure Puar is a guy but I guess they went with him being a female for this story.

Yeah that is a shame especially when a comic has great art but the entire story consists of these cliche ideas. You can swap sagas between most of these stories and you probably wouldn't notice you're reading a different comic. A fan comic should at least be different enough that it can stand out among the rest and people know which story you're talking about when you bring it up.
"You know that fan comic with a bunch of alternate universes having a tournament?"
"Oh you mean Dragonball Multiverse."

"You know that fan comic with the Z fighters as grade school kids?"
"Oh you mean Little Saiyalings."

"You know that fan comic with Gero's computer building another android?"
"Hmm could you narrow it down to ten choices?"

"You know that fan comic with an mutated Saiyan who has a vendetta against Goku and/or Vegeta?"
"Hmm I could think of a few."

"You know that fan comic with Frieza's son/uncle/grandfather/second cousin having revenge against the Z fighters?"
"You'd have to be specific since he has a huge family tree in fanon!"

"You know that fan comic where Goku unlocks SSJ5, 6, 7, 8, 9, etc which are pretty much palette swaps of previous SSJ forms and then fuses with Vegeta, Gogeta, Gotenks, Vegetto, Vegetrunks, and Gokhan to defeat Super Majin Baby Omega Bio Cyborg Godpotence Broly?"
"Well I can't remember anything exactly like that but it rings a few bells."

Give Young Jijii's AF a read. Yeah it has SSJ5 but it is very solid. The powerful villains have reasons for showing up and why they havent been sense. Not only that but were 14 volumes in and Goku has yet to do a single thing. Everything has been done by the likes of Gohan, Vegeta, Uub, and Gotenks. Even Goten and Trunks fight on their own. It is a very refreshing change of pace from the whole Goku does everything routine.

I couldn't really get into Young Jiji's AF for the same reason I couldn't enjoy the other GT sequels. I hated GT because to me it didn't feel faithful to the manga and most of the plot and villains were recycled from past sagas and movies. The fan comic sequels seem to follow the same formula. In Young Jiji's AF we have another super powerful relative of Frieza and a set of alternate Shadow Dragons. The GT Shadow Dragon saga was horribly executed and didn't seem possible with what we already knew about the Dragonballs. That's why I wasn't too excited to see it used again in another fan comic. Young Jiji is an amazing artist but the story just seems really uncreative.
