Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I don't see how he's weaker so far, the fastest Ginyu member just temporarily took him off guard before Goku became aware of his presence. Then Goku dodged without looking at him and floored him with one kick, after nearly defeating another Ginyu with one punch. Though he really shouldn't have been caught off guard in the first place.

Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

One hit was enough to put any of them unconscious in the manga. Also, he was so much faster than them that all of their attacks were just side-stepped.RandomGuy96 wrote:I don't see how he's weaker so far, the fastest Ginyu member just temporarily took him off guard before Goku became aware of his presence. It took 3-4 hits to bring down Burter. The more durable Recoome only went down in one because it was an off-guard elbow to the solar plexus.rereboy wrote:One hit was enough to put any of them unconscious in the manga.RandomGuy96 wrote:I don't see how he's weaker so far, the fastest Ginyu member just temporarily took him off guard before Goku became aware of his presence. That wouldn't prevent him from getting caught off guard when he's not paying attention. We've seen that happen at much bigger power gaps than here. Like when Piccolo caught Freeza off guard. Also, he was so much faster than them that all of their attacks were just side-stepped.

It's true that Goku used a combination to bring down Burter but it's clear that he could have ended it in one serious hit. With his speed and power, he could have done what he did to Recome to all of them. However, in this special, Goku specifically states that he attacked Recome with the intention of ending it with that attack, and yet Recome is still in the fight.RandomGuy96 wrote: It took 3-4 hits to bring down Burter. Furthermore, in the manga Goku wasn't at all impressed with their power. In this special, he is.
He's not paying attention in that situation? Hard to believe. I mean, he feels ki and the opponents don't know how to hide it... And he should be expecting attacks from all sides.RandomGuy96 wrote: That wouldn't prevent him from getting caught off guard when he's not paying attention. I have to agree. This is ridiculous, this shouldn't even be a fight for Goku.

Assuming that he is as strong as he was in the manga, of course. Nothing was stated or explained regarding that, but it would make sense for him to be.

He should be even stronger considering Nail is with him. Were they just sitting around doing nothing instead of training to maximize their power?rereboy wrote:Assuming that he is as strong as he was in the manga, of course. It wouldn't make sense. Nail knows firsthand how strong Frieza is, and Goku knows enough to get a general idea, the notion that they'd just rush in without even making an attempt to improve is ridiculous.rereboy wrote:Also unclear.TheUltimateNinja wrote:He should be even stronger considering Nail is with him. Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Things not making sense is not all that unusual in this fic and to some extent in the original DB as well, but this is just plain ridiculous.rereboy wrote: I didn't say it made sense
Goku and Nail don't even have anything else to do, under such conditions Goku would want to spar out of boredom alone. He puts a lot of things aside for the sake of training/fighting, for him to suddenly do a 180 on his usual attitude like this pretty OOC.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I won't say it makes sense, because it doesn't, but I also won't exaggerate. For example, Super has consistently provided with far greater inconsistencies in terms of power, imo.TheUltimateNinja wrote:Things not making sense is not all that unusual in this fic and to some extent in the original DB as well, but this is just plain ridiculous.rereboy wrote: I didn't say it made sense

But bar perhaps being a bit flanderized Goku's character hasn't been changed all that much in Super, considering that Goku has a guy with him that's just as strong if not stronger than a Ginyu Force member there's no way he wouldn't want to fight him.rereboy wrote:I won't say it makes sense but I also won't exaggerate. We'll know whether or not they trained if Nail starts oneshotting the Ginyus next chapter since his canon power level of 42,000 isn't enough to get any sort of noticeable advantage over them.

This is mainly an issue of power consistency in comparison with the manga.TheUltimateNinja wrote: But bar perhaps being a bit flanderized Goku's character hasn't been changed all that much in Super, considering that Goku has a guy with him that's just as strong if not stronger than a Ginyu Force member there's no way he wouldn't want to fight him.

So has Recoome decided to just do nothing, then? Judging by the way he suddenly grabbed Goku's leg I figured he'd press his advantage and attack, but I guess he's content just laying on the ground.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
This is post 100G Training Goku right?
These two should be down and out after one attack and there is no way Burter should be able to even touch him.
Unless the whole team jumped him at once with Ginyu, Goku would have 0% difficulty taking them down effortlessly.

Just because Recome is still conscious and willing to fight it doesn't mean that he isn't hurting from Goku's punch.TheUltimateNinja wrote:So has Recoome decided to just do nothing, then? Goku's punch only knocked out a few teeth and maybe give him a concussion.rereboy wrote:Just because Recome is still conscious and willing to fight it doesn't mean that he isn't hurting from Goku's punch.TheUltimateNinja wrote:So has Recoome decided to just do nothing, then? Ergh...that...would be pretty serious if that were the case. Concussions aren't something you can just laugh off.TheUltimateNinja wrote:Goku's punch only knocked out a few teeth and maybe give him a concussion.
